Weekend Fun

Enjoyed a day in the woods. You never know what you're going to find. I have to say, my wife and I have a blast taking Sassie (yup, she's officially named lol)off-road. We have been mapping out all the trails in the state forest near us.

First Off-road Adventure

My wife and I decided to go off-roading on Saturday to test out our Bronco Sport Sasquatch. While I am in no way an expert off-roader, I have owned several vehicles and gone onto trails with them. I had a Subaru Outback Wilderness, Ford Ranger FX4, and F150 FX4. The BS is by far my favorite one by a long shot. The Ranger had plenty of off-road power, but the BS is so small that I literally turned around in the middle of a trail. The F150 was too big. The Outback Wilderness was great, but I felt the response from the 4WD and steering is better on the BS.

A little background about the area. I live in Northwest Florida in the Pensacola area. Not far out of town is the Blackwater Forest, a large state park with plenty of trails. Being in gulf coast Florida, the terrain is nowhere close to the terrain in the mountains. Here, it's flat with some decent hills, no large rocks, but tons of mud holes. I've included a bunch of pictures to show some of the trails.

I do HIGHLY recommend the OnX Offroad app. It has pretty much any trail you want to go on. For the BS, I was able to select easy and moderate trails for us. Most trails have descriptions and pictures so you can get a good idea of what the terrain looks like. Because of this, we avoided the much rougher Jeep/Bronco trails that were too much for the BS. We plan on mapping out the trails that no one has entered information for yet on our later trips.

The highest pitch and roll I was able to get on a hillside was 9 degrees. It’s awesome that the BS has that info on the driver screen. Also used off-road mode, especially for the front camera. It’s easier to maneuver when the lines are set up onscreen to know where your tires will end up. Most of the time though, I was in normal mode. Had to shift into 4WD for a couple of hills and water puddles.

Overall, we had a blast. My wife loves photography, so she gets many chances to take photos of the landscape while we are out. She also sets us up a picnic. Bringing food, towels, and drinks. We spent most of the day out adventuring, and I have to say, we can’t wait to get back out there again next weekend (weather permitting).

tl;dr Broco Sport fun. Go offroad.

New Owner

My wife and I enjoy offroading, nothing hardcore, so a Bronco wasn't worth the price for us. Decided to get an Outer Banks Sasquatch at a huge discount. It holds its own on the trails.

My wife was out of town last night

My wife was out of town last night. The first picture is Pippin dealing with her not being there. The second is soon after she got home.
