Looking for a vest pattern similar to the one I saw in a TV series

I'm not 100% certain if it's crochet but I saw this in a Netflix series recently and fell in love! I tried looking up some old patterns but I can't really find anything that's similar.

Made it!

So happy I made it work!

It's my Kindle Paperwhite 7th gen and I used Winterbreak. Took more time than I'd like to admit but it's all running smoothly now :)

It's so hard to keep going

I am in the last year of my PhD and I feel like a total failure. My stipend ran out, it was for 3.5years while the expected PhD is 4 years, so basically I have 6 months without any income and had to move in with my parents. Recently, I had two postdoc interviews but came out second in both because I don't have enough experience (at least that's what they told me in feedback)... The weight of this is crushing me, I am trying to push through but there are so many obstacles on my way that it feels impossible. My supervisor started a company and practically abandoned me one year in to my studies. Now I realise that I should've been more proactive and found a second supervisor, but it's way too late for this. I can't afford therapy any more, and the university mental health services are a joke - I tried reaching out to them three times and every time they made me feel even worse.

While I do think that my research is important and very interesting, I am simply crushed by the entire situation. At this point the only reason I am doing it is because I am very privileged to go into higher education, when so many women in the world are not even allowed to study. Still, I am very disappointed in myself and feel like giving up all the time...

Sorry for this negativity but I just can't keep it in any longer :(
