Capital One Business Analyst Intern - Plano vs McLean

I just got an offer to intern for Capital One's Business Analyst role, but I'm stuck between Plano and McLean. Has anyone worked this role and want to share their input? Here's what I've weighed:

Plano:

\- I live in DFW, so it'd be a 30-40 minute drive and I can pocket the $5k relocation stipend

\- I don't really want to live at home for the summer, but my mom wants me to stay

\- Friends in DFW and Austin

McLean:

\- More project opportunities, HQ office

\- Higher cost of living, but I have the relocation stipend + I have a friend interning in the same role in McLean so we can share living costs

Is it smarter to just keep the stipend and stay in DFW, or is it worth relocating?

[Routine Help] My skin is sooo oily how can I make it neutral?

I’m acne prone but my skin has been doing much better this past year. I used to get huge under the skin pimples with multiple heads often, but that barely happens now. I will just sometimes get tiny whiteheads on my chin or cheeks. I think it’s because I healed my skin barrier by using more moisturizing products.

But my skin has always been so oily, gets oily so fast, and it’s worse now during the summer. Here is my routine:

Morning:
\- Wash face with just water
\- Hyaluronic acid
\- Good molecules discoloration serum
\- Paula choice azelaic acid
\- Purito oat calming gel moisturizer
\- Trader joe’s sunscreen (this is silky and somewhat mattifying when i apply it but my skin still gets oily quickly)

Night:
\- Wash face with La Roche Posay cleanser for normal to oily skin
\- Hyaluronic acid
\- Good molecules discoloration serum
\- Differin gel
\- Purito oat calming gel moisturizer

About a year ago i switched to washing my face with only water in the morning to avoid over stripping my skin, that combined with adding hyaluronic acid and moisturizing in the morning seemed to reduce my acne by healing my skin barrier. But even though I’ve not been over drying my skin it hasn’t seemed to calm down on oil production.

My skin still gets so oily and I feel like I can never achieve that “just skin” look because my face always looks greasy. Even when I wear makeup I use a lightweight concealer and use the Huda Beauty setting power and that helps me be matte for a little bit before I look like a greaseball again and have to constantly blot / powder my face.

My mom 61F said she’d cut all contact with me 20F if I didn’t marry a Muslim man

Me (20f) and me and my Muslim mom (61f) have always had a rocky relationship due to us both being stubborn and her being very strict and me wanting to do my own things. It was way worse in high school, but now I’ve finished two years of college so far and our relationship has gotten better. The only things I still don’t tell her about is that I drink, eat pork, smoke once in a while, and am sexually active. However as a 20 year old in college I feel like those things aren’t crazy.

Today we randomly got into an argument because she randomly brought up marriage (she does this sometimes just out of nowhere and it’s so annoying) going on an on about my future husband, emphasizing that I need to find a nice MUSLIM man. I was getting really irritated and I flat out said “Honestly I don’t care if he’s Muslim or not. It doesn’t matter to me. I agree with all the other qualities you want in my husband but his religion is not part of MY checklist. I don’t care if that’s what you want, I’M marrying him and I don’t care to limit myself on a condition that I do not personally care about.”

She then told me that if I want to marry a non-muslim that’s fine but she will not come to my wedding and she will cut all contact with me. And she said it so casually too and said it would be easy for her to detach and never talk to me again. She is entitled to do whatever she wants of course but it just hurts. My dad is not alive anymore she’s my only parent and I’m her only child. I understand from her perspective she’d be very upset because she doesn’t want that for me. But I just wish she would understand that I’m my own person and she can still be in my life and accept our differences.

I am dating someone right now, and he’s not muslim. I love him and I wouldn’t ever want him to convert because I myself don’t even follow Islam. He’s Christian but also not practicing like me. My mom knows we are good friends but that’s all I introduced him as: my friend. Me coming from a Muslim family has never been an issue with him, he embraces it and respects my mom. I don’t want to tell her we’re dating at the moment, because unless things get serious to the point where we are planning to get married I don’t want to have that difficult conversation with her. (EDIT: I don’t plan on getting married anytime soon! We are too young this wouldn’t happen for like at least 5-8 more years)

Getting into this relationship with my boyfriend I knew my mom wouldn’t approve but I don’t want to make my life decisions based on what she wants from me. I have a good life I have good friends I do good in school I have an internship I am happy. I feel like I deserve to live for myself.

Obviously I want her there for my wedding. If I marry my boyfriend I want us to be one big family and for her to just be happy for me that I’m happy and loved. If I end up marrying a Muslim man that’s fine too but I don’t care to close myself off to only Muslim men.

I’d like to think if it came down to it she’d come around and stay in my life. But idk. I feel like I’d just keep our relationship from her until I finish college and move out for good. There’s no guarantee I marry my current boyfriend, but how can I approach this?
