Rant: why am I the only one in this house who picks the random crap off the floor?

My husband has ADHD and just doesn’t see it. He’ll tidy, but it’s more of the big stuff like putting dishes away, big pieces of toys etc.

I even have a cleaner/housekeeper! She has zero executive functioning skills. She will only do things if I specifically point it out. The other day I had to point out that dusting off the shelves includes dusting off the items on said shelf.

And then there’s 2 kids. An 8yo with autism who treats having to clean up as an attack on her entire existence, and a 4yo with adhd who tries his best but ends up making more mess.

This morning I spent a full hour picking up hair ties from the floor, teeny tiny barbie accesories, paper cuttings, random lego bricks and characters, I opened up a bedside table we never use and found 5 spoons and 15 medicine cups inside (why do we have so many of those bastards?), I threw out 5 lumpy dirty cushions that are always in the way and nobody ever uses, and I re-hung 3 curtains that had been partially yanked off the rod.

I have autism, so I know I am more sensitive to mess than others, but PLEASE tell me other houses look like this as well. On the surface, everything looks clean because it gets vaccuumed and mopped several times per day. But the clutter?? It’s absolutely insane. We have so much CRAP. Where does it come from? AND WHY AM I THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS HOUSE PICKING IT UP????

Little thrift find

My Bottega is at the cobblers and I am abroad so I don’t have access to my other bags. I desperately needed a bag to take to my little trip tomorrow and came across this Marc Jacobs leather bag at the thrift store for €8!

It’s not entirely my style, it’s very y2k in a slouchy hippie way. I can totally see Vanessa from GG running around with this! But damn it is so comfy and the perfect size, so I’m gonna embrace the style for now.

What is your perfect airport bag?

Just did our yearly intercontinental with 2 kids and I used my new (secondhand) Bottega hobo and I hate to have to admit that the old girl just isn’t big enough.
I might get a new bag while we are in Europe so I’m set up better for the trip back home. These are my requirements:

-no crossbody, needs to have straps long enough for on the shoulder or on the arm
-big but not ginormous, shouldn’t look like I’m toteing around luggage
-leather
-should comfortably hold an ipad, water bottle, wallet and a scarf or thin sweater, snacks…
-not a Longchamp (I have it and it’s great for my kids’ stuff but I want something a bit more elevated for myself)
-no big logos, so not the LV neverfull (I used to adore that bag but I’m just growing a bit out of the very obvious logos or prints phase)

My budget is up to 1.5k but it can be secondhand as well, so new price can be higher if I can easily find it secondhand!

Cotton bras recommendations (or am I being delulu)

I’m slowly but surely getting rid of all my polyester clothes and would love to switch to cotton bras as well.

My boobs are big but not massive, currently a 32F and I actually wear bralettes from M&S and they support me enough. But they are obviously fully polyesterz

Some brands I’ve seen float by and was wondering if anyone had experience with them: Net Positive, Subset, Mate the label.
