Mythic Bastionland: The Grasp [18+][Short game][EST][New players welcome]

EDIT: The application period for this game is now closed! I had a lot of great apps, so please don't be discouraged if you weren't selected, I simply had more players apply than I could take on. I hope to play with you next time!

You have recently been knighted, and sent to a distant land with a Company of fellow knights where you are to uphold your Oaths:

Seek the Myths
Honor the Seers
Protect the Realm

The Grasp is just that — humanity's most ambitious grasp into the world beyond the Continent. The small island is split between the verdant hold of Springwatch and the sun-scorched lands controlled by Refugio. Everything else is wilderness, full of ancient ruins, meager dwellings, and the whispers of the Myths.

You will seek glory in this realm, serve its rulers, its people, and bear witness to — or perhaps, intervene in — the Myths as they play out across the land.

Cling to your Oaths.

--

I am looking for 3-4 Knights for what I hope to be a relatively short game of Mythic Bastionland.

Mythic Bastionland is a hex-crawl game where you travel the realm and seek glory by way of encountering and interacting with strange events — called Myths — that play out over the course of your journey.

In the meantime, you will take on Knightly tasks as you encounter people on the road or in the realm's centers of power.

Some things prospective players should know before they sign up:

  1. Everyone plays a Knight. There are 72 Knights in the game, and you will roll to see which Knight you play. Most aspects of your personality will be yours to decide, but there is no pick and choose character creation like in DND.
  2. A typical realm in Mythic Bastionland is based on a 12x12 hex map with 6 Myths to encounter. I am using a 9x9 map with only 3 myths as I am hoping to keep the game relatively short.
  3. This will be my first time running the game. Please be willing to endure my newbie growing pains as we play.
  4. Please include the word "Galahad" somewhere in your application to confirm you've read the instructions.
  5. I'd like to keep to a post rate of generally once per day.
  6. I am happy to teach the game to new players, but I also expect players to read the rules I've included in the server to cut down on back-and-forth during the game.
  7. DO NOT USE AI to fill out your application!

CONTENT WARNING

This is a dark fantasy game set in a medieval-coded world. Situations in which violence occurs against innocent people, children, and animals are possible, though I will keep descriptions tight and direct, not gratuitous. There will be no depictions of rape or overt bigotry in this game.

This game is LGBT+ friendly and no bigotry will be tolerated.

If you are interested, apply at the link below. If you have any questions, please ask them in this thread.

Looking for fiction books/series that incorporate historical mysteries/conspiracies similar to the Assassin's Creed Templar/Assassins conflict

Hello all, going to try to be as specific as I can here.

In the Assassin's Creed games, the central conflict of the series involves two groups — the Templars and the Assassins — which stretches back to essentially the dawn of man. Their struggle simply put is elitism vs egaltarianism. The Templars see themselves as enlightened and best fit to lead humanity and achieve peace, even if that's through subjugation and literal mind control, the assassins think people should be free, even if that means more chaos and violence as a result.

The conflict plays out across history, often focusing on artifacts called "pieces of eden" that take the form of some of history/myth's legendary and storied objects. Things like the Staff of Moses, Excalibur, the Ark of the Covenant, etc.

There is also an element of a precursor civilization that sort of set things in motion in the background.

What I am looking for are books/series that have similar plots that deal with long-running conflicts between two or more groups. Ideally they will involve historical mysteries and legendary artifacts but they don't HAVE to be set in the past, they should just deal with history in some sense.

I'm not looking for fantasy or anything that isn't set on Earth.

One series that has sort of fit this mold is James Rollins' Sigma Force books with its early conflicts between Sigma and the Guild playing out across modern day Earth but incorporating both science and historical mysteries.

Can anyone here recommend me anything that resembles what I've described? Thank you for your time and thoughts!

Reddit, I'm on vacation please don't lock my account again

Hi Reddit support!

So I'm traveling right now. Reddit flagged that I had logged in while in a different country than the one I live in and sent an email noting the log in. A few days later it locked my account citing suspicious behavior and forced me to change my password.

I changed the password and immediately got another email from Reddit saying "We noticed a new login to your account. To keep your information safe, we want to make sure it was actually you."

After the first Reddit email earlier in my trip, Reddit locked my account (despite the email saying I had to take no action)

Is there anything I can do to make sure Reddit doesn't lock me out again just because I'm on a trip?

What is this symbol? Found in Rome, crossed axes below a flame

Hey all hoping for some help here.

Was standing near a road across from where the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill is located in Rome. An old looking building was undergoing renovations and had the symbol included in the photo on the side.

I assume it's either shriner related or maybe tied to some fire brigade, but I'm not sure. Any help?
