Avantis & Shure ULXD G57 Support

Hey, I just learned the hardest way possible that G57 receivers are not discoverable on Avantis.

As I understand it now, this was addressed for DLive. What is the plan for Avantis ?

Raining - Water Intrusion ?

It’s been raining a lot lately. All of a sudden I have a ton of water getting inside the cab, no idea where it’s coming from but it seems to collect somewhere behind my glovebox. When I make a sharp left turn, it all dumps out onto the passenger side floorboard.

The crazy thing is that I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. But it’s for sure from rain.

Paint & Body Updates

I said I would post some updates. The group doesn’t allow photo comments so I guess I’m just making a new post. Including before and after photos. Still have a ways to go. So far between paint & body ($3300 Maaco Premium Two Stage, with color change & two-tone up charges), trim, mirrors, lights (all sourced from LMC) I’m about $5500 into it.

I bought a roll of this stuff. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to safely cut a clean beveled edge on this stuff.

I’ve been wanting to flip the paint on my 2000 OBS C2500 so I sent it in this week. I used a variety of visualization tools to make decisions. It will be at least another week before I see it in real life, but while we wait I wanted to share what that process has been so far.

Found a tool called 3Dtuning.com. Closest thing they had to the c2500 was a k1500 extended cab. And wound up with a rendering

Sent both my first picture and the 3DT rendering to chatGPT and had it merge them to show me what it looks like with different paint color codes, under different light, with various wheel options, etc. then I had it make me a diagram that I could give the shop.

Placed a big order with LMCtruck. New door and window seals, window sweeps, new mirrors, chrome grill, putting headlights and taillights back to factory, new plastics, and chrome trim all the way around.

I de badged and removed all of the trim on the truck, spent a weekend removing 26 year old 3M adhesive from the truck. Found that 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner 08984 and a set of plastic razor blades was the best most readily available thing that actually worked.

Excited to get the truck back. I’ll post updates as I receive them.
