i love this medication!

i've been on mirtazapine for about 3 years now (started at 7.5mg, at 15mg now and about to increase to 30mg in a week) and it has truly saved my life. it was prescribed to me for appetite and anxiety/depression, and it has worked wonders. the only side effects i had on this med was craaazy drowsiness, like i was sleeping A LOT when i first started on 7.5mg lol, but it was a good thing because my sleep was crap. i don't get drowsy anymore, but it still works well for my appetite and anxiety/depression. thought i would share my positive experience with mirtazapine in case anyone is feeling afraid of taking it for the first time. 😊

Nausea with Lexapro

Hi everyone! I just got prescribed 10mg of Lexapro and I will be starting it tomorrow (hopefully, I'm pretty scared to be honest). So, I'm just wondering, does having a meal before taking it help curb nausea? I have emetephobia and I'm so nervous about getting nauseous, and I know that's a possible side effect. I just want to know if eating will help prevent that or make it not as bad? I know it's possible that I won't even get nauseous, but yeah, just curious. Do let me know! Thanks guys!

i am so tired and i feel alone

i'm just so sick and tired of dealing with gastroparesis. i lived an amazing life before i developed this horrible disease and now i feel like a shell of the person i used to be. i used to love eating and now i fear food so much because i'm afraid that it will hurt me or cause me discomfort. i wish i could just eat like a normal person without having to worry about what might happen afterwards. i have emetephobia which makes having this disease 100x worse. i also am so insecure about my body now. i used to weigh 135lbs, but now i'm only like 108lbs and it's hard to maintain. it makes me so sad. i miss my old healthy body. i miss being normal. 💔

i feel so alone. i wish i had friends who also have gastroparesis to talk to and relate to... no one in my life right now really understands my condition or why i'm so afraid to eat. my family is supportive and so is my boyfriend, but i feel they just don't truly understand what i'm going through. 😕

Constipated for over 2 weeks

Hello everyone. I am a 24F and I suffer from chronic constipation. This time however, is the longest I have gone without having a bowel movement, and it is really starting to affect my quality of life.

I have taken several doses of Miralax over several days with plenty of water, I've been going on walks every day, I have tried taking 3 tablets of Dulcolax, I have used a Dulcolax Suppository, and even a Saline Fleet Enema, and I still haven't had any kind of relief.

My abdomen just hurts. I feel extremely full, from my lower abdomen all the way up to my upper stomach. Eating is becoming difficult as I am gradually having more and more trouble swallowing as well as early satiety. I experience occasional nausea. Standing, sitting, laying down - no matter what position I am in, I am uncomfortable.

I do have very mild Gastroparesis, but I am usually still able to stay regular with going to the bathroom for the most part despite the disease. Occasionally I have times where I will go maybe a day or two without pooping, a week tops, but never over two weeks before.

My health insurance doesn't go into affect until tomorrow, but I don't know what to do when it does. Do I go to the ER? Urgent Care? Or do I just try and see my Primary Care Doctor? Who knows how far out that appointment would even be though and I really don't think I can wait any longer. I am so desperate. I am suffering and I am getting extremely anxious, scared, stressed...

If anyone has any advice, please feel free to share it with me.
