Hey everyone, so I looked online and tried to adjust my rear brake lever position, but it seems like I might be doing something wrong. I am mechanically inclined, but I do not want to round anything, so better double-check, I guess.

There is one nut on the bottom or the linkage between the rear brake lever and the master cylinder. There also seems to be some sort of a spacer nut at the top of the linkage. I am assuming I need to loosen the bottom nut, rotate the bolt so the lever goes down and then re-lock the bottom nut. The problem is it feels like it’s asking for too much force and I don't want to force it unless I know 100% that’s the right nut to loosen.

So my question is do I just need to go harder at loosening the bottom nut between the lever and the brake cylinder?

Hi! I searched the web for a while and it just gives me generic answers, like making sure the name is the same, initiating the wire early in the day etc.

I am planning on moving about 40k within 30 days ($20k from wf, $20k from chase) and then moving btc from coinbase to self custody.

Then I also have a scheduled 100k move (50k wf, $50k chase) next month, and about 60k the month after that.

Any pro tips to avoid the delays? I'm in the USA, have both wf and chase accounts active for years, and have an active coinbase account for a while but didn't do much with it.

I also have older inactive kraken account. Will that be a better option?

Hello fellow brothers and sisters. A little about my situation and a couple of questions to people that maybe were in a similar situation as myself.

My background:

My parents took me to Russia when I was less than 1 year old. I was and am, unfortunately, a russian citizen.

I, along with my parents, sister, and wife, immigrated to the USA in 2016, and have a pending asylum case based on my life and situation in Russia. Yesterday, after 10 years, I was informed that immigration denied my asylum case and referred in to immigration court because they believe that along with Russian citizenship, I also have Armenian citizenship, so they are asking me to leave for Armenia.

Since we did not break any immigration laws coming to the USA, I am planning on asking for volunteer leave to avoid the deportation and the ban.

My Russian passport has expired and I do not want to renew it. I booked an appointment at the consulate to start my Armenian passport issuance process. I'm 32, so I fall under the 37 military age. Not sure how it's going to work but I do not have a desire to spend 1.5 years of my life in the military. Any suggestions here?

Also I have a list of stuff I will need to take care of before leaving, especially registering my dog as a service animal to be able to take her into the cabin.

Are there any tricky tasks and items I need to be familiar with regarding the repatriation? Im gonna make sure that my debit account and my phone number stay active for the first period of time, and I will also need to file taxes with usa early 2028 for 2027 year, but I really dont want to miss anything important since I dont have any reliable people here in usa that would be able to help with nuances if I miss anything before arrival to Armenia. Also need to take care of my 401k and brokerage account so not 100% sure about those either.

Is your MacBook keyboard backlight too bright for you? Do you have sensitive eyes? Do you constantly adjust the backlight multiple times a day? If the answer is “No” then this app is not for you, nice to meet you and have a great day!

For the few of you that might have the same issue as me, hey! Call me old fashioned, but I think the keyboard backlight needs to be on only when you can't read the keys cleanly and only bright enough to illuminate the actual letters, and not bleed through keycap borders.

MacOS gives you two controls natively:

1. “Adjust keyboard brightness in low light” toggle
2. “Keyboard brightness"  slider

Both sound great right? Well, I don't think they work correctly. The “adjust” toggle never brings the light all the way down to the lowest setting, and if you bring it down manually, slight change in ambient light brings it back up. Plus it's not allowing you to only have light on when it's truly dark, when, imo, is the only time you need backlight.

Long story short, I made an app for this. Signed and notarized, small local app. It's free and open source, idles at 0% CPU, and the download is about 1.5 MB. Works on macOS 13 and later, though I only tested it on macOS 26 — if it can't find your keyboard backlight, let me know which version you're on. More details on the GitHub page. I do not believe there are other apps that allow you to do this. I like running mine at the lowest brightness with lowest sensitivity of the ambient sensor, so my keyboard light is only on when it's really dark with a constant lowest brightness.

No, it is not a slop, I spent multiple days refining it, making sure it doesn't have any bloat, and tested it thoroughly.

No, I am not a professional developer, so this is the only way I could've made a free tool for my real life problem, that some people might find useful, so I am sharing it. I don't have enough disposable income to pay “real” developer to make something like this. And I am not completely new to this, I have successful Appstore and web app deployment of my other projects.
