Via Ferrata Mürren: Solo/Guided
Hi, I’m in my late 20s, moderately fit with regular physical exercises, and have some hiking experience, including a few 6-7+ hour hikes.
I’m travelling solo to Switzerland this July and planning to do the Via Ferrata Mürren route. It’ll be my first via ferrata, so I’m a bit confused about whether I should do it by myself or go with a guide.
My main concern with a guide is the group size. The tours have groups of ~16 people, and I’m worried that might feel a bit crowded, with too many people in front or behind me. I’d prefer some breathing space and the ability to pause if needed.
What would you recommend - solo or with a guide for a first-timer? Also, for anyone who’s done it with a group, did it feel rushed or crowded?
