Ketotifen + Amitriptyline, any experience?

Hello dear community,

My doctor prescribed me now amitriptyline for my pain. And both are histamine h1 blockers and cross to the brain thus make you sedated, drowsy. I wonder did anyone ever combine it? And what was your experience?

Two weeks post breakup // It's worth it

Not going to lie, I missed him so much and really wanted to go back. We had also many good times in our 1.5 year relationship.

I read that this is actually an addiction due to something called intermittent reinforcement (you never know when the next crisis or good moment is going to be and your brain gets addicted to it).

So you have to give yourself at least 30-45 days (for me it already happened a little earlier).

I followed also the regimen like I am addicted to something (google it).

I feel so much at ease at the moment. I know healing it's not linear and I will still have bad days but at least I realized that I let myself and boundaries go.
Now I'm starting to recognize myself again.

So, especially if the missing and longing feels more like craving (it reminded me a lot to when I had quit smoking cigarettes), remember it's somewhat an addiction too.

Your future self will thank you for pushing through!

Low impact/light to moderate physical exercise, even if you don't feel like it

1 week into the breakup with my partner with BPD who I was together with for 1.5 years. Today I had a really rough day, I couldn't get out of bed at all. A friend had to come and have me had food.

I had read the other day about hormone depletion after such an intense relationship. Specifically dopamine and oxytocin (which you lack now apparently). You don't have the dopamine spikes specifically and it feels understimulated.

A moderate aerobic workout like a 30 min of yoga or low impact pilates can help balance it.

Now in the evening I pulled myself together and did a 20 minute workout just at home. And I have to say it did wonders. I feel like I can go out of the house again.

I know in such a situation it seems impossible to do a workout, but if it's somewhat in your capabilities even a small workout can do wonders.
It cost me a lot of willpower, but it was definitely worth it.

Hope this helps someone!
Remember to avoid any type of interaction since it can reset the brain chemistry balancing process.

Friends of pwBPD tell their partners to breakup if you see them suffer

I know this doesn't sound nice, but my boyfriend's friend, who I confided in that I can't take it anymore and he keeps hurting me she said "Break up, you have to break up. He won't learn otherwise".

We became also friends and she really solidified my long wish to end the relationship.
They are still friends but she is so supportive of me.

You know, hearing that from one of his friends really doubles down and makes you realize it's necessary.

Help post-breakup with pwBPD / Feeling numb and empty

I know you got this often but I couldn't find any "advice" on how to deal with the total numbness I feel.

I broke up after 1.5 years with my partner who has BPD and had to endure so many crises (violent ones included, though not directed to me).

After many forth and back I decided to break up last week. I blocked him everywhere. I know this seems harsh but he would have called and texted me aggressively.

I reflected on our relationship and I had taken on a caretaker role which also drained me so much. We made big breakthroughs in terms of change of habits.
Anyway but at what cost? I abandoned myself completely I bare recognized myself anymore.

So now I took all the guts I had, all the willpower and I really made it happen. It was extremely difficult since I felt so dependent on him.

Even on the same day of the breakup, I felt so empty and numb.
I want to grieve and move forward but at the moment I feel weird.
In some ways relieved also but more so empty and numb.

Anyone had experience with that and can recommend something?
I know it's been only one week but I can't bear it anymore.

Trintellix instead of Trimipramin?

Does anyone have experience switching from Trimipramin edit: that is tricyclic antidepressant thus more side effects.

I have side effects with Trimipramin that I'm not sure I can bear for longer.
For example sexual dysfunction, stomach issues, dizziness, grogginess, brain fog. I prefer bearing the side effects than without Trimipramin at the moment. But maybe worth switching?

I got Trimipramin because it helps with depression with anxiety. But Trintellix apparently too.

Would really appreciate if anyone has experience with Trintellix being a good fit for depression with anxiety and the side effects. Even more curious if you tried Trimipramin before.

Thanks a lot, community!
