What is this opal

I just bought it for $525 on an auction. 14k gold with real diamonds. Weighs 4.8 grams. Not trying to sell it. I know nothing of opals. Did i get a good deal? How much would a stand alone opal like this cost? Size of stone is 1/4 in by around 1/3rd in. Did i get a good deal or overpay?

What kind of opal is it?

I bought this at an auction. Just wondering if this is a white or fire opal or something else? Wondering if I overpaid. It's set in 14k gold with real diamonds. Ring weighs 4.8 grams and the stone is 1/4 by 1/3rd inches big. Im no opal expert so curious to hear thoughts on it. I paid $525 for the ring. Are stand alone opals like this expensive?

I just bought these on ebay. 14k yellow gold. Are these really antiques? I paid $416 and wondering if that is a fair price
