Can someone take a picture of below their front license plate?

My wife hit a tire and now front sensor reported an issue. Car is charging so I can’t see what it exactly says. From the picture I’ve attached, looks like something got ripped out. This is right under the VW logo in front.

Has this happened to anyone in the USA? Did you go through insurance? What was the cost?

Thanks

Sold a fridge on Facebook and owner is asking for a refund

Sold a full size Kenmore refrigerator for $150 on Facebook. The buyer saw it in person yesterday and said it was fine and told her father in law to pick it up today. I helped him load it into the van. A few hours later, she is asking for a refund because of a fish smell after she cleaned it. I did notice a smell after we had it closed and turned off for a week. However, we always had baking soda in the refrigerator and didn’t notice it. I told her to put baking soda in there but she doesn’t want that smell to get into her food.

She wants a refund and will bring the fridge back but I don’t want it since it will take up space in my garage. On one hand, I feel that it’s not my problem after she came and checked it out. On the other hand, I feel for her and knows she means well. I told her to resell it but she doesn’t want that smell to go to the next owner.

What would you do?

Backing up with hitch mounted and emergency brake - hack?

Just noticed this when we did our road trip with 4 bikes on a hitch and no rear lights plugged in that would have prevented the emergency brakes from triggering, that if you had a door open, the emergency brakes will not trigger. Only noticed this when I was reversing and had one of the sliding doors opened. No kids were in the car :).

Bike rack question

We were just given this Thule bike rack and upon installing it before our road trip, I noticed the screw doesn’t go across the hitch mount. My ski rack goes through it so I assume the Thule should as well. Can someone please confirm this is safe for a 7000 mile road trip?

Thanks

Taking it cross country next week!

Driving the family (2 adults, 2 kids 11yo/9yo) across the country for the first time since we now have a minivan. We’ll be visiting 6-7 national parks along the way. Would love any tips you have specifically for the carnival.

What I got so far:

  1. full size spare (we have a hybrid) will keep it inside the car since we have a hitch mounted bike rack carrying 4 bikes.
  2. MMB Max car play (to watch movies on the center console)
  3. comma.ai (haven’t gotten it yet but hopefully I can set it up to self drive the most of the way)
  4. car jack and tools to take the wheel off
  5. taking the 3rd row of seats out to get more room for the spare tire and such.
  6. camping equipment

I refrained from getting a roof rack due to reduced gas mileage.

Full size spare compatibility

Full size spare- I found a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe wheel, same size (19x7.5), bolt pattern (5x114.3) but the offset is 49.5 while the 2026 carnival sx I have is 54mm. Per the picture below from wheel-size.com, it won’t fit but an 18” wheel would. Does anyone know if this would fit on my car?

USBC light stays on

Can you please tell me if your usbc light stays on after you lock the car doors, if so how long? I brought it to Kia and they want to keep the car to troubleshoot since it doesn’t happen all the time. I’ve had to jump my car 5 times so far and I just got it 5 months ago (2026 hybrid sx). Unfortunately I won’t be able to get a loaner unless they diagnosis it, confirms it needs a part, then Kia will provide a loaner. They want to keep the car for a few days.

Hi,
I am looking for a hitch that can hold 4 bikes as well as carry our full size spare tire. I came across this. While the reviews look good, it hasn’t been updated since 2018, and their customer service weren’t able to provide me pictures of how it would look like with 4 bikes. Do you think this would be a good solution?

I’ve been searching for weeks for a solution to 4 bikes and a full size spare tire because I don’t want them on top of my minivan. If there are any other solutions (not including a trailer) please let me know. Thanks
