2016 with 45k miles and fully charged says 67 miles? Is this normal?

Just swap out the 12v battery with 60ah AGM battery from Costco. Process is seamless so far.

However my cheap OBD tool is not able to code the new battery. Old posts mentioned this topic and some think you don’t need coding but some say yes.

I rather error on the safe side and code the new battery. But how? Does anyone know which specific obd tool works for 2019 egolf?

Hate paying an arm and leg for dealer to do a 1min job.

Anyone in Bay Area / South Bay specifically have the tool that works? I can buy you a six pack in return? 😅

Got our 2016 e golf 45k miles and love her! However it’s our first electric and we have no idea what we are doing lol. The regular charger is taking FOREVER. Should we upgrade the home one? How much faster is that? The quote we got is $1500 so want to be sure it’s worth it. Also can we fast charge out and about?

Is there settings we should reset from the previous owner?

I'm looking for a new electric car to get from and to work and I've found that the e-golf would be perfect for me.

One way trip is about 35km and I can charge it at home for practically nothing due to solar panels.

There is one up for sale near me 2020 model and 54000 kms driven.

Are there any known issues with this model I can check before purchase? And what are other points to address when making a test drive?

I have a 2019 SEL. The USB port seems to be having sporatic problems. About 1 in 10 times I plug in my phone, the car doesn't recognize that it's there. Unplugging, repllugging, jiggling it around - none of that does any good. If it was just a loose wire or dirty connection, I would expect some of that to work. Normally, it's not a big deal, but it's getting more frequent. Is this a common problem? Is this just buying a new port and replacin the one that's there? Just making sure this isn't something bigger or mor ecomplicated beore I go out and start buying parts - plus it looks like that port will be a pain in the ass to change.

Also, there have been times where the car didn't recognize anyting until I unlocked my phone, but that doesn't make a difference either for the times that nothing registers.

So I feel like a ad-hoc "cool/heat now" button is missing from the e-Golf and programming the climate control via the menu every time you just want it to run for a few minutes is a pain. Also the feature via App exists, but either costs money or no longer works due to that generation of cell service no longer being supported.

But I found a hack! Using VCDS (or I guess OBDeleven could also work) you can code the car to be lockable even when on. So park, leave the car running (or restart if it switches off when you open the door), and lock the car from the outside. This is with keyless start, so the key does not remain in the car.

Did anyone swapped the E-Golf with Petrol engine from the MK7 or any MQB platform engines??

Hey all, I recently bought a 2015 e golf for 5k with 80k miles. The rear subframe is looking pretty bad and im looking to swap it out. Im wondering if anyone has swapped theirs for an aluminum or tubular aftermarket one to help reduce weight and increase performance?

I’m looking at upgrading my Golf Sportswagen with white door sill lighting. I’ve seen one picture with an e-Golf with what I remember being white sill lighting but I can’t seem to find it anymore. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

My car just died while was on the road and managed to somehow get it to the side of the road. I got it towed home and tried to read the faults and from the looks of it seems to be just the 12v battery as It is 6 years old now. The other faults I couldn't read - anyone had any similar issue?

Recently purchased a used 2019 eGolf with 30K miles. First EV for me, and I LOVE it. what a fun car to drive. I've had it for about 3 months now, and the "Maintenance in 30 days" message just appeared. I know you can manually remove that message, which I might do, but should I take it in? I mean, it was inspected before purchase so presumably it's all good. But if I did bring it in, what are they even looking at?

I'd rather not have to go to the local VW dealership and pay some ridiculous fee if they're just replacing my wiper fluid...

A dealer quoted me $500 to replace gearbox oil before bringing it in to determine what issue really is. Is that how much it really costs?

Is the battery cooled by air conditioning, my car aircon is not blowing lots of cold and going to France in afew weeks so wondering if it’s urgent to get re gassed. For information purposes it is a 19plate on the 36 kWh battery
