I am an amateur Jellyfin user getting by on tutorials and YouTube videos. I use MakeMKV to save MKVs with PGSUB subtitles on a Synology DS220+, streamed to a local 2026 Onn 4K Pro over 500Mbps (albeit wirelessly).

4K movies may take a few (2-5?) minutes to load, but when I turn subtitles on, it takes so long that it reverts to the Onn home screen due to inactivity.

I have HW transcoding turned on but it's rarely needed, and the only thing I've tried is turning off the "Allow subtitle extraction on the fly" setting in the server Transcoding settings. That didn't seem to help.

Are there any low-hanging fruit options for me to try first? I have seen a couple things to try, but I wasn't sure if I should try them in a particular order: (1) Extract Subtitles scheduled task, (2) Save subtitles into media folders (I'm not sure if this is even possible for me having it all in one mkv), (3) Bazaar. What should I try first? Anything else I'm missing?

Or is this the type of problem only solved by an NVIDIA Shield Pro? Or a direct ethernet connection to my modem? Or upgrading my internet bandwidth? Or is it the DS220+?

I needed to upgrade the external hard drive, didn't think to consider the power requirements, I got a seagate STNB16000400 that has a single USB C port and requires 15W to keep it powered. The DS220+ USB port seems to just be 4.5W. is there any reasonable solution for me to make these two work together to save me the hassle of returning it?

Wife said either Food Market or Clove and Cardamom, already been to Food Market and I'm the type that wants to try something new:

1. Pre-concert dinner on a Tuesday, do you recommend a reservation?

2. Any specific recommendations? What's overrated/underrated? I get Indian so rarely I have to look up the dishes every time.

From the current Gruv sale. About 10:15 into the movie Spartacus' body shifts, it seems like they spliced two takes into the same shot, I was wondering if there was something wrong with my disc or if that's just how the movie was. I couldn't find any mention of it around the Web. Thanks.

We acquired a 2018 Yepp Nexxt Maxi bike seat. Of course the tube lock mechanism dropped out, and everything I read said a master key would fix this.

this time it was acquired by Thule two years prior, BUT the master key has since been discontinued and, according to Thule customer service, the 2018 model was still using old Yepp keys. We took it to an REI to confirm, none of their master keys would fit, and the universal keys were too big.

So this is a shot in the dark. If anyone has an old school master key for a pre-2019 Yepp bike seat, I would be very interested in paying to have it shipped here and I could mail it back. OR if anyone could figure out how to get the lock tube back in and/or how to loosen the bike seat clamps without the lock tube getting back in, I'd appreciate it.
