Not sure it's origin or anything, regardless it was too sick not to pickup

Recently was gifted a TONEX but not sure what I can do with it

I was recently gifted a TONEX, and I’m trying to figure out how I can actually get some use out of it.
I don’t own any physical amps or cabs. I usually record guitar directly through my Apollo Twin and use STL Tones or Guitar Rig for all of my amp sounds. Now I have the Apollo and the TONEX, but I’m not totally sure where the TONEX fits into my setup or whether it would improve anything.
Can I use it as my main amp/cab setup for recording and send it directly into the Apollo? Would it offer any real advantages over using amp sims inside my DAW, like lower latency, better feel, or freeing up processing power?
I’m also curious whether there are any other useful ways to integrate it into a completely amp-free home studio setup (apartment lol). I’m not currently playing live, so this would mostly be for recording and practicing.
Basically, do I have a good use for this thing, or is it mostly redundant with the plugins I already use?

It’s crazy how these are the same price yet one plays and sounds 5x better than the other…

Recently picked up my first PRS and coming from an MM Strat, the difference is shockingly noticeable. Fender seems to be a lost cause nowadays unless it’s a CS.

NGD and first PRS! SE Studio, Hit my 4 years of playing last week and wanted to treat myself 🤘🏼

Coming from a MM Strat, this SE feels unreal! Can’t wait to rip it.

Next season’s setup has arrived 🤌🏼(shoutout Dusty)

All time favorite rider. Took me 5 months to find his board in 159, but finally got the board and bindings paired. November can’t come soon enough

After only getting 2 days last season, so stoked to have reached the 70 day mark today at Mammoth

I’m 26 and have been making music for about 5 years, mostly production and engineering. I know my way around Ableton and Pro Tools comfortably, have worked in studios, recorded/mixed songs for other people, etc. But I’ve never really had a structured path of education or mentorship.

Lately I’ve been feeling stuck because I’m kind of just freestyling my growth. Since I don’t have a steady client base, it’s hard to stay consistently focused or know what to work on next. I feel like having some kind of program, classes, certification, mentorship, or even just a structured learning path would help me level up and stay disciplined.

For people who’ve been in this position:

- Was pursuing education/training for audio engineering or production worth it?

- What routes would you actually recommend?

- Online courses? Community college? Audio school? Mentorships? Certifications?

- Are there any programs that genuinely helped your skills/career and weren’t just a waste of money?

I’m less interested in “getting a degree” for the title and more interested in building a real path for improving my engineering/production skills in a serious way.

Would appreciate any advice from people already working in the field.
