galaxy s25 heating fried my sim card

i've never had a sim card go dead on me before when it was exactly where it was meant to be - in the sim tray. bought a galaxy s25 about a month back because i couldn't stop thinking about the navy blue color. this morning when i woke up my phone said emergency calls only. i called the service provider and everything on their end was ok so they said something must be wrong with the sim. i argued with them thinking this must be some planned obsolence trick to get customers to move to a new batch of sim cards or go e-sim whatever. then the lady said sim cards can get damaged due to overheating and i was speechless. i feel dumb and stupid. all of this looks like it's my fault.

edit: thanks to everyone who replied. i know it's a minor inconvenience but i'm going through a rough patch so this sent me for a spiral and i had to vent it out somewhere.

Wi-Fi turns on automatically despite this setting being off. What gives? (pxl 10, 10a)

Since the Android 17 update I've been noticing that the Wi-Fi turns on automatically after some time despite this setting being off. Has anyone else seen this happen on their phones recently? Please help me find a solution.

you have to make a 5 track sampler ep for someone who's never listened to boc and are allowed to choose only from the studio albums. what's your ep look like?

what would be your choices? i feel like familiarity with the sounds of the first three records would definitely contribute to enjoying tomorrow's harvest and inferno so keeping those off from the choices.

'naraka' is the 'new seeds' of inferno

there is a switch/click/release that happens when you reach 'new seeds' on tomorrow's harvest. the same happens when you reach 'naraka' on inferno. it's like the mind was weighed down and suddenly allowed to float again.

do you guys feel the same way?

what actually contributed to trisha's longevity?

is it just 'vinnai thaandi varuvaya'? surely not ghilli because she's hardly of any interest there other than the fact that the plot revolves around her and it could have been any one at all. i genuinely cannot think of other films where trisha is a memorable presence.

the visceral force of 'new seeds'

listening to tomorrow's harvest, front to back, after a while now and 'new seeds' at 15 had my entire body reacting to the sound of it. that old feeling of knowing a call coming even before it appears on the phone. such a tasteful use of that sample. probably has been said a 1000 times before on this sub but it's just that good.

about the use of 'hare krishna' sample in 'naraka'

i live in india and am yet to hear the record but as intended the guardian review caught my attention and i saw these lines mentioned in there.

"In this context, the appearance of sampled Hare Krishna chanting on the ghastly Naraka makes it seem as if they’re laughing at eastern religion, too – either that or they’re just deploying lazy orientalism (which later reappears with the sitar twang of Deep Time)."

i remember the organisation known as 'international society for krishna consciousness' aka iskcon had several former students from their schools in the 70s/80s come forward with sexual abuse allegations some time in the 90s or early 00s. so the use of 'hare krishna' which can be roughly translated as 'praise krishna', a hindu god, as anything but lazy orientalism in a song called 'naraka', which means hell.
