How do you usually go about organise a pre purchase inspection

Ive never done this before and kind of just lucked out or only bought cars known to have as few issues as possible, but I want to spend a bit more on a car and I'm overwhelmed and confused by the actual social transaction of doing this (yes im autistic shut the fuck up lol)

if you went to a private seller would you contact them and ask if all good to do that and then like leave a deposit with them or something while you take the car to the inspection spot. I'm not feeling great about the look of the mobile inspection places. I just have no idea how to actually ask the person to take their car and shit. Granted its a different type of thing but i find marketplace people really paranoid (for good reason sometimes). Can someone just give me a play by play of how they have done this... if you haven't actually done this process and just wanna hear yourself talk can you do me a favour and just let others answer so i don't have wade through any bored snide comments, cheers haha

Inspecting a 2003 Prado with 210k to buy for $15k

Living in Melbourne - Looking for some advice on what I can keep an eye out for when inspecting and also advice on if the price sounds ok provides things check out. Have looked at all the vids on YouTube but I started a thread the other day and people pointed out a lot of the things on a roadworthy that are deal breakers. Im checking out a 2003 Prado with petrol v6 with 210k with RWC and rego til Feb next year. Is 15k too high? It’s at a dealer and my experience has been that it’s a bit easier to haggle so I’m gonna try to get it for 14k. Any advice on max price people would pay on top of a few good tips on what to keep an eye out for as someone with limited mechanical knowledge? Will be driving maybe just a few times a week short distances and mostly wanting it for big road trips etc.

From the listing:

-NO ACCIDENT HISTORY
-RWC
-4X4
-AUTO
-STEDI LED BAR
-ALLOYS
-LOW KMS
-FEB2027 REGO
-8 SEATER
-RWC
-SIDE STEPS
-TINTED WINDOWS
-WEATHERSHIELDS
-TOWBAR
-DRAWER SETUYP
-FLOOR MATS
-CRUISE CONTROL
-LEATHER STEERING
-TOUCHSCREEN MULTIMEDIA
-FLOOR MATS
-POWER WINDOWS
-POPULAR AND RELIABLE

Advice on potential quoted roadworthy costs for 2005 Prado

Edit: thanks for the advice everyone, I bailed on buying, sounds like youse saved me a fair bit of hassle.

Looking at buying a 2005 Prado GXL, originally agreed to buy including roadworthy and rego for $10000 with 270,000 km

Seller went to get the RWC and was caught off guard by a big list and now wants to sell without RWC for a slightly lower price of $9700 but he’s also covered $300 for the inspection. He sent the following list of things quoted apparently mechanic saying 1200-1500, but he won’t send me copy of the quote or anything so who knows. He’s gonna call me from mechanic tomorrow so I can talk to them. I am considering all the red flags but he seemed like a decent guy when we met probably just be in careful with his details. Anyway list below is apparently what mechanic has told him.

All front headlights polish.
Left stop light.
Airbag light ON.
Passenger sunvisor not secure.
2nd row right seatbelt not effective.
3rd row right seat belt damaged.
Rear Tail gate boot lid.
All rear tyres- Replace.
Front right swaybar linkage.
Right outer CV boot.
Left air bag in coil damaged- Replace.
All rear upper arm bush.

Does $1500 sound right for that list? Does it still sound like a good deal if we come out having spent $11,500 in the end?

Advice on roadworthy cost for Prado

Seller went to get the RWC and was caught off guard by a big list and now wants to sell without RWC for a slightly lower price. He sent the following list of things quoted needing repair but not an exact quote and I can’t speak to mechanic. Wondering what people reckon the total would come out to

3rd row right seat belt damaged.

Advice on buying Toyota Hiace with 400km on odo

I'm looking at a 2008 Toyota Hiace in Victoria, Australia. It has 411,000km on it but it also comes with almost a year of registration, roadworthy certificate and dual fuel petrol and LPG. The owner wants $13,800 AUD. The van from the photos seems to be in great condition, not a dent or scratch on it. Have asked him to tell me some more info about service history and if there's any routine stuff coming up on it. Looking to convert it to camper.

Does this sound like an OK deal?
