if jesus was a woman then I definitely would have become a priest

title. I'm writing theology thesis proposals and have thought that, in the alternate timeline, I would be a chaste repressed gay seminarian studying for the priesthood rather than an overworked mostly atheistic grad student. Perhaps I would have a fellow closeted lesbian ordinand that I drew close too but ultimately did not pursue for my love of God. I have been told twice that I bring to mind the hot priest from fleabag.

Is it a bad idea to study an English-language degree in a non-Anglophone country? Can anyone comment on their experiences? Question from a very ignorant Australian/Canadian

Sorry, clunky title. I only speak English (and Québécois, but I've never done anything academic in French).

As I'm researching masters programs, I'm looking at universities in countries where English is not the native language but degrees are offered in English, e.g. Austria, Germany, Italy, etc.. However, I'm concerned an English-language degree from a non-Anglophone country will be looked at poorly or not as well-taught.

I guess my frame of reference is in Australia studied a masters in like, Italian, I would be a little dubious about the program because non-English degree are not really a thing here. Is that the same impression people have about English-language degrees in non-Anglophone nations? Are they seen as just cash-grabs?

My field is theology and intellectual history. I would learn the local language to the absolute best of my ability if I ended up in one of these programs, of course. I'm not particularly worried about networking because I'll go back to Australia/Canada at the end but I'm aware it might create issues with getting to know people, making friends, relationships with professors, admin, etc.

If anyone can comment on their experiences, I would really appreciate it!

Rant - feeling pretty down about progressing to stage 2.

I've been on stage 1 for about three years. The last few weeks I've progressed to stage 2; all my cysts have started tunnelling and become very painful. The scarring is pretty bad and I've lost a lot of hair on my mons pubis.

I don't really know what to do; the cysts look different to what they used to (they're now bigger, have a different shape, some are sort of 'vertical' like small mounds and others are open wounds, whereas I've only ever had flat hard lumps under the skin before).

They haven't drained at all with hot compresses. Clindamycin and tea tree ointment are the only things I have with me (I'm in a very rural town) and they've had no effect so I'm feeling a bit hopeless. I'm flying somewhere else at the end of the week, which is good for getting supplies, but bad because the second country is in the middle of a heat wave.

Thinking about doing DIY drainage (I know it's a bad idea). I won't be somewhere I can access medical care till early August (I have a derm appointment then).

Anyway, I'm just sad. I'm 22 and still a virgin because I feel too embarrassed about it. I can't talk about it with anyone. I'm worried about further progression to stage 3. It hurts and I'm scared. Would really appreciate any advice or kind words.

I despise boyfriends.

This is all. I am in my 20s and many or most of my friends have a boyfriend. They are almost universally awful. They have raped or sexually assaulted many of my friends. They consume my friends' time and energy. They're often dirty or unhygienic. They ruin their mental health. There is little more tragic than a friend telling me she's got a boyfriend.

Recently a good friend of mine started dating a man who I have openly disliked for two years (he is very rude to girls in our classes). I stopped hanging out with another friend because her boyfriend was messing with her life (boring and dumb, got her into smoking again after she spent a lot of time quitting, made her really stressed out, etc.) and she wouldn't stop talking about him to me.

I actually like quite a lot of men and have male friends but when a man enters the role of 'boyfriend' he almost always ruins things.

Worst part is some of them will get married in a few years!

I really enjoy the small similarities/interactions between Boyle and Holt

- Boyle and Holt are both naturally very good cooks

- Holt reads Boyle's email blasts/food reviews

- They can both be extremely competitive (squash)

- Boyle accurately predicts Holt's reaction to the marshmallows

- Really hyper-specific taste in food, music, etc.

- Boyle is kind of good at making jokes Holt enjoys (e.g. grandcaptain, Weichselbrauniacs)

- They both have a flair for the dramatic

- They both understand Gina well and are probably her closest friends at the 99 (Jakes' interactions with her always have a different childhood friend vibe)

- Both grind away at their work. Obviously Holt is meant to be very intelligent but they also acknowledge a few times that the reason he made captain is because he perseveres in his work and does his job well; Charles is similarly described as working harder than anyone else.

They don't have as many storylines as other pairs but the episodes they have together are some of my favourites.
