Tapering off other APs?

I’m curious how others have tapered off of other antipsychotics while adding this drug to their regimen.

I’ve been on the 3.?mg dose of Vraylar for BP2 for about three years now. My doctor said I could just take both the Vraylar dose + the 42mg Caplyta dose simultaneously for a week, then drop the Vraylar off completely after that first week. The pharmacist told me that that was a really weird recommendation and said I could just stop taking the Vraylar because the half-life is so long.

How have you managed this before (whether Vraylar or a different drug)? Not asking for medical advice, just anecdotes — Going to reach out to my doctor regardless but curious what I could suggest as far as what has worked for others.

Giant murder of crows at Tidal Basin

Has anyone witnessed a giant murder of crows around the Tidal Basin area before? I went there today around 7pm for a good cry and found myself absolutely amazed by hundreds of crows flying from the general area near the Thomas Jefferson Memorial up the river in the direction towards Rosslyn. I didn’t take any pictures of the birds unfortunately, but it was literally so amazing to see. 🥲

Just wondering if they’re fellow locals or if they’re migrating through. Regardless, it was beautiful.

PS they weren’t bats lol

Orthopedic surgeon recommendations?

Hi friends. I need a good orthopedic surgeon recommendation - ideally someone who specializes in knees and legs. I had a very complex reconstruction a few years ago on my femur, tibia, and entire knee joint (and after falling over my own feet a couple weeks ago, think I messed up some hardware 😅), so I really do need someone highly-recommended and legit.

I’m in NW - no car, so preferably metro-friendly. But I’d travel/Uber for someone really good.

Thank you! 🥰

Do you ever get the national anthem stuck in your head?

…specifically, the version sung by Fergie at the 2018 All-Stars game? 😩 A truly pinnacle American experience.

I wouldn’t classify myself as a particularly patriotic person, but it’s been two days, how do I make it stop.

🎵 Let’s play some basketball! 🏀

How to clean a crusty kitchen faucet head

Can someone help figure out what this mysterious crust is that’s growing on a kitchen faucet head? And how to clean it and/or if we should request a new one from property management?

Candidates who text too much

Hi friends. I am dealing with a slight dilemma and need some perspective. I normally recruit very experienced executives but have been consulting on an entry-level (but still very lucrative) role for the first time in my career.

I have this candidate who is quite inexperienced and junior and he has texted me several times a week for the last several weeks. He’s been asking for advice on his interviews and re-asking the same questions that I’ve reiterated I don’t have an answer for (all things that can be addressed over email). Normally, I do text active candidates here and there, particularly for urgent matters like last-minute scheduling or if they aren’t being responsive enough to emails, I will gently nudge them to let them know I emailed. This candidate sent me five texts in a row last week at 7pm though, and sends emojis and has other less professional quirks in his messages (several every week).

I am an elder Gen Z, so on one hand, I get that texting is a go-to for our generation, but on the other hand, it’s been so persistent that my boyfriend saw he’d been texting me often enough that he asked who it was and why they were texting me so late.

I feel like I am quite an understanding and flexible recruiter, but it’s even starting to annoy me, and I worry if he continues doing this with other recruiters, he’s going to miss out on opportunities due to the lack of professionalism. How do I gently broach this and assert a new boundary about texting only for urgent matters (and reverting to email instead) without sounding too harsh? Is it even appropriate for me to provide this feedback?

help me with my pee gremlins

I adopted three 8-week old baby boys last week and have been quite overloaded with conflicting info since then. I read some info saying to disturb the cage minimally in the first week to allow them to settle in. Well the stench got entirely out of control today on day 5 and I had to remove some of the bedding, and when I tell you I was horrified, disgusted, and flabbers were fully ghasted when I found a pee nest under the hide they’ve been sleeping under. I was crying, screaming, throwing up while removing the piss-soaked tissues and blanket I’d put under there + lots of poop too. I thought they were supposed to keep their sleeping quarters generally clean?

I’ve substituted the blanket with paper bedding so I can more easily remove the pee spots on a daily basis but is this a behavior I should expect more moving forward or is it just because they were so timid the first couple of days that caused the piss nest? The stench was horrific and I keep them in my office so I can’t deal with a nasty stench all day every day.

PS they’re in a double critter nation with litter boxes on each level and have been using those the last few days so I’m hoping this does not persist. 😭 I keep the first floor covered in paper-based bedding but only had blankets on the second level but am thinking I will just do hemp-based bedding on all levels moving forward.

Cute baby tail for tax.
