Would you want a full recut/remastered version of anime?
A thought I’ve had for a while now regarding the Boruto anime:
Not saying the anime had no good moments — because when Boruto hit, it REALLY hit. Some fights and episodes had genuinely amazing animation and direction.
But at the same time, there were also plenty of inconsistent or weaker-looking episodes that could honestly benefit from being redone with more consistent quality.
The biggest thing though would be structure.
Imagine a remastered version that:
- Covers only the relevant material to the overarching story
- Properly streamlines the pacing
- Keeps the important anime-original content that actually adds to character development/world-building
- Removes unnecessary padding and disconnected filler arcs
And then whatever ends up included in that final recut/remastered version should basically be treated as the definitive canon/relevant storyline for the anime continuity.
What remains in that version should be up to the producers and then that gets treated as definitive canon
(For eg: if jougan is in there, it may then be considered relevant, and if that doesn't make it then it isn't)
After that, the anime could just continue adapting the manga going forward in a much tighter format without excessive filler or stretching content.
I honestly think Boruto’s overall reputation would improve a LOT if people could experience the story in a cleaner and more focused way.
Would you want something like this eventually, or do you think the current anime is fine as it is?
