I’ve been in maintenance for over 5 months and am currently maintaining on 2.7 every 8-9 days. I’m going on a rafting trip out in Utah where we’ll be on the river for 8 days. All told we’ll be away from home for two weeks. I’m planning to take a shot right before we leave, but not bringing it with me. I’ll resume once I get home, probably at 2.5 just to be safe. Basically I’m stretching out my dose by two weeks, which I’ve not done before but I know some in maintenance do. Does anyone have any advice for me about what to expect going this long between doses?

I recently bought a new PFD. The waist and shoulder straps have to loosened to remove it. When I tighten the waist straps I have a good bit of leftover strap dangling. The shoulder straps have little pockets for the excess. But nothing like that for the waist straps.

Maybe I’m overthinking it but I don’t love having anything dangling from me when I’m paddling (or swimming).

Anyone invented a hack for tucking or dealing with the excess waist straps after cinching them?

I’ve been whitewater kayaking for about ten years now, and am on my second knife. My first was an NRS Copilot, which I still have. But I’ve been told by some, including a SWR instructor, that they’re dull and not really useful. So, I purchased an NRS Pilot Access folding knife. I’m really disappointed with it as well. I’ve had it about 3 months and it’s already showing signs of rust (I wear it on the outside of my pfd). It’s also now incredibly difficult to open (though it wasn’t when I bought it). For the time being I’m going back to my Copilot. Any suggestions on other brands? Though I’m hoping not to spend $300+ on this.
