Idris still nonverbal at over 2 years old

I’m dumbfounded how they haven’t put this kid in any type of therapy. He needs speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and occupational therapy. It’s always the dumbest people that find the need to keep popping out kids without even providing proper care for their first child.

In laws weird energy

My in laws never seem happy for us when we do something good for ourselves. We recently renovated our basement and instead of giving a nice comment all they have to say is the ceilings are low and it’s “cozy”. Cozy isn’t a compliment, it’s a backhanded way to say the space is small. It’s in no way small and actually very spacious. Next, I went out for my birthday to a very specific restaurant out of the way that they have never been to a few days ago. All of a sudden when they heard we went there for my birthday they want to take the whole family there for Father’s Day. This isn’t the first time they have done this, if they hear my husband and I went somewhere they have to go there within the next few days. I just found this odd, anytime we go somewhere they have to go there asap. Am I reaching, or would you also be annoyed?

EDIT: For people attacking me saying that’s not the definition of cozy. My basement is completely empty and doesn’t have any furniture or decor in it. How can a place that’s empty be cozy?

How much should basement stairs cost?

I need to have a 3 step stair case installed. I got 2 quotes. One was 1k for installation of the stairs and a handrail with staining included. The other quote was also 1k but no stain included. Does this seem like a fair price? See photo of current steps

Tile Job

Contractor was doing a good job until I saw the grout lines today. Some tiles are also un-level. Does this look salvageable? Can the grout be washed off the tile after it’s dry?

BIL’s showing up empty handed to daughters birthday

My BIL’s are 21 and 26 they came to my daughter’s first birthday with no gift. The 21 year old I will give him a pass because he’s a student but the 26 year old has a full time job that pays well and is old enough to know better. I told my husband to confront them but he won’t. Should I bring it up to their mom and ask her why they didn’t get their neice a gift? I feel like it’s her job as the mom to tell them what to do since they both live at home.
