I’m new here

I’ve checked in on Laura clery here and there for the past few years. I was never really fan bc something always rubbed me the wrong way about her. I had no idea there was a snark until the whole fridge thing happened but I’m wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a good deep dive? Or maybe even bullet points of why in general people aren’t a fan. She seems melodramatic and that’s always turned me off from being a fan or following, and the performative privacy of her children too, and her general vibe is just ick. Thanks for taking some time out to help!

AIO my s.o doesn’t care that I have a flat tire

So we live together, I share my car with him. He works nights, when he was driving home Sunday morning he got a flat tire about a half mile from home. He decided to just make it home, told me about it, I wasn’t worried I knew we’d get it taken care of. He wound up falling asleep all day Sunday I didn’t bother him. Fast forward to today, tire is still flat, he still hasn’t gotten out of bed, I just lost my job so I have no money to take care of it myself. I tried waking him up at like 12, and gently said “hey we gotta get the car taken care of today” and he was angry and just sort of said okay. I have to drive a good 25min to my doctors tomorrow and I’m worried the car won’t be fixed. AIO for being upset he’s showing no urgency with this?

Edit/update: changed it myself once I got a hold of a jack, rescheduled my doctors appointment, and my tire has a huge rip in it so looks like I’ll be buying a new one instead of patching

Hairspray

I was watching Sweet Charity and a clip from Hairspray showed up in my recommended, of course AGs name in the title. So I had to click it and holy shit she’s so dark 🥴 also watching her dance in this was painful but watching bob fosse’s choreography beforehand DEFINITELY didn’t help. I wish I knew about all the snark for her work on Hairspray, I wonder if she had any diva moments

sick of discounts

First time posting, this is mainly directed at food places but anyone chime in! I just wanted to know if anyone here has rolled back on discounts for their store and how customers reacted? I own a dessert shop, been open going on 6 years now. I sort of took too much of my experience working corporate restaurants and went by similar standards. Not all bad, tbh but from people expecting free birthday gift, veterans/military discount, spend x get x off, specials for weekends/holidays, free samples, etc it’s driving me nuts. I bust my butt and run the entire show mostly by myself (one extra helper on weekends). Stuff is expensive, I don’t get any product for free or at a significantly better rate than my customers do besides maybe ice cream. Which who the hell came up with free samples for ice cream, because that is such a major issue for me. It’s time consuming and wasteful. I don’t know any other restaurants that offer free samples of their food. I already started charging for samples but how can I get around expectations of military discount & free birthday gifts?
