Is this a Good Idea for a Zombie Book?

There was a massive amount of gun confiscation ordered by the American government. Due to this, many small conflicts broke out. People felt like their right to bear arms had been taken away, and on January 4th 2020, it was removed from the Constitution. Well, a few heavily armed communities held out; many people complied and handed in their guns.

The June 4th massacre: A large number of radical members from the 2nd Amendment Brotherhood take part in a co-ordinated mass shooting in 7 state capitals, resulting in the deaths of over 478 people and the injury of 2139 more.

Within hours of the first death and with paramedics on scene, the bodies started to rise and start attacking people. Many who went to help those they thought were injured ended up being scratched and bitten. The hospitals that were already overwhelmed had an influx of people, some of whom died of their open wounds. Both the people who died of gunshot wounds and those who were too badly mangled by the dead rose again as zombies and began to attack.

Many of these cities went into chaos in a few days. Anyone who died with an open wound would come back as an undead. An unknown bacterium gets into wounds, and if the person dies, the wound is open… they get back up.

Well, the state capitols are the most out of control; small events like this have been happening all over.

  • Fully shambling undead that can only be killed by destroying the brain. Want to eat the living.
  • Rare few are slightly intelligent (Use door handles, remember certain locations)
  • Small amount can run and climb.
  • If their lungs deteriorate or get damaged, they can no longer make noise. ( You can’t hear them coming.)
  • When they first reanimate, they don't move until they are alerted to something. (Easily mistaken for regular dead people.)
  • Not great eyesight (after a while) and no sense of smell, but good hearing.

You can get bit and scratched as much as you like, but just don't die with an open wound.

Other ways to progress rather than levelling. Please poke as many holes in this idea as you can.

No levelling, you can raise individual stats by using them, but each stat increase is harder to get. You can unlock traits and skills to influence your play style with quests or hidden conditions required to unlock them.

Each player would have to manage
• HP
• Stamina
• Mana

Classless play. You can self-identify as a certain few classes, and NPCs can comment, but for the most part, it's free rein.

A for Honour-based directional 6-sided combat cursor. Magic can work the same way with the circle expanding when casting spells that require being aimed, as some can be homing. It would make combat a more skill-based affair. Your skill level with cerian weapons or magic could affect this as well.

Unique items and skills, as well as traits for rewards, so players can compete and explore for hidden secrets.

Every time one of your stats raises, it gets harder to raise, but also every other stat gets a tiny bit harder to raise. Using the stat is the best way to improve it, with different inputs being necessary to have it count. For example, strength will go up when swinging a hammer, but unless dodging, parrying and other actions one might take in combat are done, it won't count to a certain extent. Same for casting the same spell or casting it on the same person a certain number of times in a time frame.

You could pick a race, and that race would have access to certain skills and traits naturally. They could also raise certain stats and skills more quickly.

You can "sleep" in a bed and have the chance to keep or ditch the individual stat increases you have acquired.

A skill is a measure of how proficient you are at something, with many of them being acquired and improved through common sense. Using a sword a lot will give you a swordsmanship skill and improve it. There are passive and active skills. One, like swordsmanship, is passive, whereas another, like "Super Cutter," is active.

Players can only have a certain number of these Active skills equipped at a time. Passive skills you can have as many as you like, but the more Passive skills you equip, the slower they are to level.

Traits are things that can affect how you play massively and can be unlocked by doing various things. For example, if you keep running out of Mana and you hit rock bottom in the middle of a fight 100 times, then you could unlock the trait “Blood Mage”, which switches any Active skills that use Mana to using Health instead when you run out. Another could be “Wind Walker” If you keep dodging after like a 1000th time getting a close dodge, you could have dodging cost way less stamina and have it so you can dodge mid-air, but you take more damage if hit and can no longer block.

A very popular skill will probably be "sense", which will use the colours of the "aura" around a target to gauge its strength. Green means more than half of your stats are higher, orange means your stats are near the same and red means more than half of its stats are higher.

It would be a straight percentage increase if a weapon, skill or action required it.

Players could absolutely brick themselves when grinding. You can be a jack of all trades or a master of a few.

There will be items that are rare and can change the way you play or affect your character in certain ways. PVP will be a thing in some areas, and events like PVP tournaments could be a thing with certain items, skills and traits only available then.

Guilds will have access to certain amenities in their guild hall, such as trainers

Player-made weapons could have certain traits applied to them if the creator knows how. It would also allow for player-made gear to have a purpose that doesn't completely eclipse endgame gear.

My Idea for ES6. We play as a et'Ada

What it says in the title really. We play as an unknown et'Ada (the things Aedra and Daedra were before the world was made.) Who was for one reason or another was stripped of their power or gave them up. We don't know what we are as we have no memory. We play in Hammerfell as a slave or a prisoner and escape. (Cue the title screen) As we play we collect points or objects or whatever that let's us choose from a special ability tree or let's us improve our health, stamina or magic by a far amount.

We have the choice to ignore what we are and simply live as a mortal or we can dive into some powerful et'Ada abilities. This give player freedom and choice for role play or character builds.

An et'Ada could be any race.

It would explain our leveling up ability.

It would explain our why our character doesn't know anything about the world.

It's an interesting plot point with lore.

It let's you be whatever you want to be.

The whole story and ending could be decided on what we did character wise. Did you make yourself a demi god with unnatural powers? Or perhaps you just beefed up your mortal stats instead. Think of the mindflayer tadpole in bg3. Embracing the power effected the ending and had consequences.

A good story choice but a little mismanaged.

I liked the mature way they showed how some people just gave up and the mental toll most players went through. I was quite surprised they had the nerve to show Saayu actually jump from the cliff.

We saw her like 3 times before this. We know very little about her and I think that was a massive opportunity lost. She could have been one of our actual player companions, we could have seen hints of her inner struggle in her dialogue. We remember deaths like Aerith from final fantasy because we form an emotional attachment. We never really got the chance with Saayu or Clark.

Still I think the subject was handled with the amount of respect that it was due and it really made you think.

Why Am I standing like I need to pee?

The female body type makes you stand with your legs constantly bent and facing in. Why? Girls' knees work the same as boys' knees. It takes me out of the game a little after I chop the head off a boar and then stand like I've got arthritis.

It's such a little thing, but It's just bugging me 😭

Need help, nerve gear audio broke

Yeah, I logged into the game, and my Nerve Gear just stopped playing sound. Missed out on the starting ceremony and everything. I couldn't even try to read the big red guy's lips or anything cause he doesn't have a face. I think everyone is having this problem because everyone's avatars (real ugly btw might be a glitch) are freaking out. Does anyone know how to fix? 😫

New Time Patroller suit looks spiffing, unfortunately my fit has far surpassed it.

Dr Eggman is, in fact, going to sue.

What is the sword that keeps getting mentioned in the third DLC

Spoiler* I want to make a proper Rogue Trader Greed build and the Xeno sword that Seberian von Valancius has keeps being talked about. I would like to make it a part of my end game build but I can find no mention of it anywhere online.

Does anyone know what it is and its stats?

Echoes of Aincrad Gear Scaling

I have fully completed the Beta, with all chests found, level 15 max level and all bosses/arks available beaten. I really want to do a high strength build but I also really like the great sword.

The issue I'm having is all the greatswords I have found only scale primarily off dex. Do you think that will continue in the full game?

What is the level cap?

How does it play so far?

Are you having fun?

How would you describe combat?

Is the voice acting solid?

How much of the world is open to us?

How's my first draft world map?

Any help or questions are welcome.

Lore (If needed)

Long ago, the Primordial Spirits and the High Gods fought a brutal war against one another for an entire age. This conflict came to be known as the Celestial Era.

It is said that after one final grand battle, the twin Primordial Spirits, Rime and Rill, sacrificed themselves to form the Sea, which drowned and buried many lesser gods, and the White Wall, whose vast size surrounded and protected the world from the influence of the High Gods.

The other Primordial Spirits, exhausted and grief-stricken from the loss of the twins, fell into a deep sleep, becoming the many Old Wonders that still remain throughout the Mortal Era. The corpses of the Spirits and Gods morphed and changed over time, creating dungeons and monsters that still plague the world to this present day.

It is now the year 4632 of the Mortal Era, and once more the world begins to change.

Rytilla is the main continent of the world, and more and more Spirit-Blessed are being born: people capable of naturally wielding the elemental magic tied to their blessing.

Civil war blooms between the once-bound great houses in the Midlands as the city-states struggle amid new challenges

The oceans quake and stir as an unseen threat sinks and destroys ships. The Tribes of the White Wall fight amongst themselves while raiders pillage towns, wielding strange and unexplained powers. The primordial Spirits' most powerful creations, the Dragons, have begun appearing beyond their nests with increasing frequency, and monsters roam farther than ever before.

Ran into a problem regarding stat based dialogue event.

I'm completely new at this and very confused. The event works kinda the first time I engage with the NPC, but then it sticks to whatever the dialogue was the first time I spoke to them, no matter what my Attack was. So if I failed the check the first time, it always chooses that option even if my attack was 999 the second time I speak to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
