If someone “goes low” how do you typically respond?
By “goes low” I mean that they deal low blows interpersonally, fight dirty, don’t play by the rules, act sneaky or unfair, etc.

Hello! For background, I am an older driving student (30 years old) who lives in NYC. I’ve been taking driving lessons in a very congested part of Brooklyn and I think after a few more lessons I’ll be ready to schedule my test.
The reason I am learning to drive now is because I am planning on moving in with my boyfriend in Connecticut as early as October. I never learned before because I had severe driving anxiety in my teens, and then I went to college in the city and never left so I never had a reason to learn until now. I still have pretty bad driving anxiety but it’s not as bad as it used to be and doesn’t prohibit me from learning and taking my lessons.
My mom and dad live in central Jersey (where I grew up) and when I practice driving there with them it’s so different (obviously) than what I’ve grown accustomed to in New York. Fewer one-ways, fewer people walking, faster speeds, highways, etc. Learning how to drive in NYC has been great for certain things but I struggle with things like changing lanes and driving at faster speeds - because I’ve never had to.
What advice do you have (other than “practice more in the suburbs”) for someone like me? Anything you can think of that might be good to keep in mind when transitioning from driving in NYC to driving in CT?
Thank you in advance!
I definitely want to get it trimmed since it’s kinda dead at the ends. All pictures are dry hair, un-brushed. I don’t do much other than brush it and wash it! Is this type 2A?
Not sure how common this is in other cultures, but here in the United States when having someone over for the first time it’s common and generally expected to give the guest a tour of the house. Not just the rooms the guest will be in, but all the bedrooms and the kids’ bedrooms and whatnot. (My family doesn’t actually open the doors to the bedrooms in most cases, but we’ll take them upstairs and mention whose bedroom is whose.)
A little bit of background: I’m a 30-year-old woman living in Manhattan who is really scared of driving. I have a really bad anxiety disorder and driving is one of my biggest triggers. I’m always terrified when I get behind the wheel because the stakes are so high (lives on the line, etc.)
I’ve taken 13ish lessons at a school on the BedStuy-Bushwick border but I don’t feel ready for the test, and I think I’d like to find a new school.
The main reasons I am looking for a new school are:
a.) the main reason I want to learn to drive is so I can move in with my boyfriend in Connecticut in the coming months and be able to get around.
b.) my instructors at this school have all been men, and I think I’d fare better with a woman instructor for various reasons.
Can you recommend to me any good driving schools with woman instructors with conditions that are a little bit more “Connecticut-like?” I know that’s a hard ask unless I took lessons somewhere in Staten Island (which I’d love to avoid but am not opposed to doing if I have to.)
If there are any good schools in parts of New York with women instructors that are slightly more residential/open and excellent for anxious, older drivers, that would be a huge help.
Thank you!
My boyfriend and I are going on our first Norwegian cruise (the Caribbean Round Trip route that leaves from Orlando, to Great Stirrup Cay and the DR) later this year. We’re looking at potential excursions for the St. Thomas day. Has anyone done the Red Collection: Turtles and Tacos expedition? If so, do you recommend it? Any others you’d recommend in its place? We’d ideally love to go snorkeling that day so we’d be happy to hear any favorites from you all. Thanks!
