[OC] I stopped asking my smart ring for permission [12:32]

Hey folks, this is my video essay I created. It's an exploration of how a smart ring and its metrics started steering in the opposite direction I wanted them to, and what I learned through research about this phenomenon.

it looks big? 😉

Not sure what qualifies as a “Big Rock,” but I have fairly small fingers (4.75) & this seems BIG. I am in love with it! 🥰💍

10yr anniversary upgrade
3ct D VVS2 excellent 1.43

* I just ordered the matching band; I’m not sure I will keep wearing my original band; mixed photos show it with original band (alternating stone size) & then with a few thin stacking bands. I think I prefer the stacking bands, which I will wear with the new one when it arrives.

Upgrade arrived 💍

its stunning! imho, of course - lol
* I can’t decide if I’m going to wear it with my original band (1st picture), or the thinner stacking bands I have. So far I think it looks better with the smaller stacking bands.

I ended up going thru Diyona for the mount and the stone (which i sourced from them first), after my local jeweler quoted me more than $2400-$3000 to repurpose my existing mount and small stones (just for the semi mount, not including mounting the loose stone). I wasn’t mad about it - their labor isn’t cheap. I will probably just have my original ring resized with them and wear it for travel. or maybe a different ring at some point in the future. I would like a wide cigar style band with an East/West stone, my crisscut may be perfect for that.

*stone was $419
*semi mount: $1100

(cost is all in, with all international shipping; the ring was actually made in NYC)

*the last picture is my original ring: natural/mined .65 Crisscut D VS1, with natural side stones (G - SI1)
