Out of Work Temporarily

Edit:

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being kind. The sf Reddit took down my posts and were not very nice to me at all, so I appreciate you letting this post stay here.

Hi SFBWT!

The restaurant I manage is going to be closing for 6-8 weeks or so, meaning I am going to be out of work for that period of time.

I am looking to make some money to ease the pain of this sudden loss of work.

The tricky thing is that I have a 1 year old and would have to pay for a babysitter who is only available in the evenings after 4, so looking for flexible ways I can make some extra money, gigs, or random odd jobs or events or babysitting (especially if I can bring my son)

I am skilled in a variety of things, but the last 8 years I’ve managed a fine dining restaurant including running large events. I also used to nanny. I don’t have a car but can travel anywhere in the city.

Thanks for helping this mama in advance!! Trying not to freak out currently 🙃🥲😩

Selling MIFA Tickets

Hey everyone, bonjour!

We have two MIFA accreditation tickets for the Annecy Festival that we unfortunately can’t use anymore due to family emergency, so we’re looking to sell them.

🎟️ $500 each
🎟️🎟️ or both for $975

This is cheaper than buying them directly right now.

If anyone’s interested or knows someone looking to attend Annecy + MIFA this year, shoot me a message! ✨

Hello KDPers,

I need advice. Or reassurance? Both?

I received my hardcover proof today, 88 pages so fairly thin but fully illustrated.

The proof came totally warped, doesn’t close properly. Made in Vegas if that matters.

Is this normal for proofs? It was loose in the shipping box, do the customer copies come shrink wrapped?

I’m obviously very worried about this as the quality sucks and my book is $25 so we can’t have that. 🥴

I’m also on Ingram, but Amazon was my primary place to print.

(Also will be doing paperback but wanted to start with hardcover)

Side question, that last page that says where it’s printed with the barcode and all, is that just for the proof copy? Thanks!!!
