Is World Famous ink going out of business or something? I’ve been trying to restock some colors from them for the last two months. Products are HEAVILY discounted on their website and most aren’t in stock. Haven’t been restocked in over 60 days. Anybody know what’s going on?
Ok I want to preface saying I LOVE GIRLS and I have not consumed much else of Lena Dunham’s writing or content outside of Girls prior to this. Upon finishing my recent rewatch, HBO suggested Tiny Furniture- Lena’s first movie.
I’m sorry to say but this movie is literally just the beta/trial version of Girls??
Lena’s character, Aura, is exactly like Hannah. Self-centered, delusional, lazy, whiny, terrible choices in sexual partners, failure to take ANY accountability. Jemima Kirke plays a character named Charlotte, who is just Jessa, hyper-sexuality, rehab stint and family-funded unemployed lifestyle included. Alex Karpovsky’s character is an early version of Ray, who uses Aura for a free place to crash (much like when he secretly moved in with Shosh).
Aura begins working as a restaurant hostess and the idea is introduced nearly identically to the way Marnie becomes a hostess. It’s just… I dunno I had high hopes for it because, again, I love the series Girls. But did the producers/HBO execs see Tiny Furniture and go, “great, now make this into six seasons”? Does Lena have the ability to write anything else besides these few specific characters?
Located in North Carolina- we’ve been dealing with a serious heat wave. This is my first time growing sunflowers and I can’t find any direct answer online if the blossoms/centers will continue growing ? They’re like the size of small daisies right now 😭 centers are maybe 2-2.5” diameter.
I am afraid they bloomed too early but I don’t know what I could’ve done to prevent this.
This isn’t necessarily a real scenario just trying to feel out how others would handle the situation. I have started booking more full day appointments (with 50% deposits) but I worry about some clients sitting the full session.
Say you have a full day rate of $1000. Client books it, sits for about half the allotted hours, and taps out. Are you still charging them the full $1000?
Obviously from our (the tattooer’s) end we’d be getting screwed not to. That’s $500 less than we bet on making and you’re highly unlikely to get another client in halfway through the day (let alone get another custom drawing done in time). However I think the client may feel cheated paying for work they didn’t get done. How would you handle the situation? Do you disclose up front that they’re responsible for the full day payment regardless?
Just as stated- artist shared this on their story as a “sleeve design”, the art style seems not to exactly match their usual or the inspo art (ghibli/miyazaki). I find suspicious where Howl’s hands have weird lines (backwards thumb??) and Sophie’s hair is very repetitively patterned. The flames coming off of Calcifer are similarly repetitive. On the bird wings, one has symmetrical patterns and the other does not match. Also not used to seeing tattoo artists post fully rendered stencil designs.
ETA: I’m 100% aware this is not a real tattoo. This was posted as a design made for a client to get tattooed. It’s a mockup. But I wanted to see if everyone agrees the DESIGN was ai-generated. Thanks.
Closed on a new home last month.
We only found out after closing and moving in, from our new neighbor, that the seller’s agent was her son. This was clearly not disclosed to us any time during negotiation or closing. My research shows that although this is considered unethical, it may not be illegal. Is there any purpose in reporting this to the NC real estate commission?
