i treated myself to a pit ticket in indy and MIW fucking killed it. kinda nice only having to worry about myself and my enjoyment cause my boyfriend wasnt with me (who def doesnt like this music).

highlights: a kid in a wheelchair crowd surfed and these two kids who couldnt have been more than 10 years old crowd surfed at least 4 times. one of them even got the setlist. also good on chris for stopping the show for the girl who needed help in the pit!🖤

i just had my first “oh my god i’m old and so is MCR” moment

EDIT: because everyone thinks im annoying for saying 30 is old and correcting this worker for pronouncing helena wrong, i am fucking joking. thanks for coming to my ted talk😘

preface: i’m turning 30 in two weeks. im a very young millenial but my best friend got me into MCR when i was in 5th grade.

i went to hot topic to pick up a tshirt order and was browsing the band tshirts, mostly to see what new MCR ones they had. this kid who works there comes up and asks me what bands i like. convo went like this:

16 year old employee: what bands are you looking for
me: mostly MCR
16 year old: oh yeah, ive only heard two songs of theirs. i cant really get into them, theyre too emo
me: 😳 i’m sorry, i cant relate, emo culture is my childhood. i guess MCR is considered old to you?
16 year old: yeah they are
me: let me guess, youve prob heard black parade and i’m not okay
16 year old: it was helena (but he said it like hell-eh-na)
me: you mean hell-ay-na
16 year old: yeah i guess

i stood there in a hot topic in front of a teeenager that actually looked kinda college aged, remembering when hot topic had the horseshoe arch and sold tripp pants and was 100% geared towards goths. my childhood/teenage years consisted of FOB, panic!, and MCR. i had those rubber bracelets of bands up my arms, wore a hair clip that was a zombie hand, did my racoon eyeliner every morning, and religiously watched LOMTS.

and this fucking kid made me realize i’m turning 30 and MCR is now considered older music to gen z’s.

i then proceeded to buy 2 MCR shirts, one of which is a bullets design that i remember first dropping way back in the day.

side note: my birthday party is emo themed and i ordered a custom three cheers heart cake with vintage piping in red and black.

Goodbye Punky Color Apple Green, hello Good Dye Young Kowabunga!!!

posted yesterday how sad i was that Punky Color changed their apple green formula. well, i went with Good Dye Young in Kowabunga and we’re back, baby! roots are still a little light for my liking but thats only in bright sun (can’t really tell here).

RIP Punky Color Apple Green

i noticed between a couple months ago and now that Punky Color changed their Apple Green formula. ive been using this color for 6+ years and it changed color and consistency, and now has more blue tints like Alpine Green. it stains different on my gloves, and i did notice it doesnt leave as much stain on skin either.

i emailed customer service and this is the new batch they sent me for free, stating they changd manufacturers. wish i had an old bottle to show the difference but i dont.

i’m going to try Lime Crime’s Unicorn Hair in Jello, so wish me luck. RIP to my fave hair dye.
