How to clean clubs. OCD edition

Tournament tomorrow. I need sparkling clubs. It’s probably some OCD bs but I play better when my clubs look nice. I don’t come from money so I take very good care of everything I spend a ton on. I’m not a grift a-hole.

I like golf and teach it to kids who might not have the money to experience it otherwise. I like GOLF not the pretentious crap. I play at a county (“muni”) course.

I like to give back now that I can. I play in charity outings for fun, I do not cheat like most folks in them. I do not cheat, and I generally “destroy” the field.

Money doesn’t buy a golf swing, time and effort does. I barely have “time” if you knew me personally but o have effort.

I play in a tournament tomorrow. I practice a ton (3-500 balls a day). I should not post this but I’m sure you are not on here:

I am a very friendly person, I do not talk smack. I hope we are friends during and after the round going forward.

My “pre-shot” routine is designed to intimidate you. I wish to hit the first shot for our pairing. I will never speak ill about a bad shot of yours (I’ll have plenty)

But this is competition. I am playing vs the field. You are my ‘opponent’. I hope to destroy you before your first swing of the day.

Sorry, I’m not a bad guy. My desire is to win. If intimidating you with my play style gets me a stroke up on you (you’re probably a better golfer than me) I will.

Hit em’ straight and beat of luck to everybody tomorrow. ⛳️ ❤️

Stock, Punch, Punch, Punch

Don't recommend skipping pre-shot routine, but I hit at least 400 balls essentially everyday and the extra steps I don't need haha.

My pre-shot routine is pretty dope though I have perfected it for about a year. Similar to like a place kicker in football I set up behind the ball, point at my target, then kind of step up/stomp up to the ball and focus only on the target from then on. I may be "looking" down at the ball, but my brain is thinking about where that ball is ending up.

My pre-shot routine for Driver and woods is kind of cool too, I like to literally hit the ground, HARD, ( i don't dent the tee box ) but it kind of gets me a bit "angry". For power eventually you do have to swing "fast". I don't swing hard, I swing fast. I've played 10 years, sucked for 6, kind of sucked for 2, was OK last year, and this year I am "decent".

Golf is about eliminating variables. The more you eliminate the more consistent your swing and scoring will become. Most golfers make 3 or 4 mistakes before they even set up over the ball. If you can get a pre-shot routine, have a good grip (learn the proper way, 90% of golfers, imo) have ZERO clue to properly grip the club, and know how to address the ball ("How far away am i, where is the ball in relation to my feet, how high or low are my hands, clubface (neutral, closed, open, something in between?).

I post cool videos, I teach youth golf, I started instructing this year and it has been the most rewarding point in my life. Thanks for listening 🤙

GT4

I bought this idk 1.5 months ago, Demo Titleist GT4. 9 degree loft with the upgraded HZRDUS shaft, put on a medium all-white golf pride tour wrap grip, and it’s the best driver I’ve ever had.

I got it for cheap because it was a “demo”, I’ nearly certain it was never hit. Look through the used / demo racks if you are trying to find a good deal. They thin out this time of year sometimes but ya never know.

I always buy previous year’s models or demos now if I don’t need to be fitted. I pretty much “know” my swing and even though there are plenty of club fitters out there who are very good, there are plenty that are plenty bad.

Don’t waste money on new equipment until you are at a point in your swing mechanics where the club is literally “holding you back”. I only upgraded from my Kirkland because even though it was “Stiff” there is so much deviation. My new shaft literally has essentially almost no flex except for the bottom \~12 inches of the club.

I’ve worked out like a maniac this year to be more competitive at golf and start TPI in a bit. If you ever need advice re: equipment or even some basic swing tips feel free to hit me up. I get paid to do this, it is now “my job”. I teach golf and am working on additional ventures. I’m a highly motivated dude and I’m pretty decent at G. 🤙

Lost another club 😔

Got em’. 🤣 I love this stuff. Thanks for watching if you do, it helps me and I literally need this revenue to offset how expensive this all has been for me. I have a fortune in youth clubs and am at the nicest indoor place in Northern NJ, Back Nine Golf in Pompton Plains. I love it there, the family who owns it are wonderful people. They take very good care of me and I will be grateful to them for this forever, if they ever see this, you know who you are. 💪⛳️

Thank you guys. I hope it gave you a laugh. Take care. “Steve The Coach”

First Day Instructing ✅

Mentally drained, but grateful. This was the most rewarding day of my life. Stared my own biz teaching youths how to play the game of golf that we all love.

Needed something positive in my life, I found it in spades.

The look on a new golfer’s face when they first make clean contact and the ball goes up high is the coolest thing ever. ⛳️ 🚀

Youth Coach

I dunno if this is allowed. My friends keep telling me to post everywhere. I got to speak at a virtual seminar this past Monday with people from 6 different countries. I was the second person to get to talk on a big zoom meeting.

I had a rough year last year between work and personal stuff and all I wanted to do this year was assist a youth program nearby.

I decided to get U.S. Kids Golf Certified and offer instruction for the best rate I can with the coolest clubs money can buy for these kids.

I never got into this for the money. People say that but if you know me you’d understand. I’m currently negotiating with 5 (yes FIVE!) golf or golf adjacent brands.

It’s all happening so fast. I’m so busy and loving every second of it. Finally for once in my life doing things the ‘right way’ is benefiting me after always shooting myself in the foot. I hope this doesn’t violate rules on here.

Thanks ya’ll ✌️ ⛳️

Trying my damndest!

My “launch event” got ruined by literal tornados in NJ. I’ve been through a lot and even though it was a wash out I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and where my youth instruction business is going.

This is me if you are in northern NJ and are looking for a youth instructor. I am offering lessons for a very fair rate and I have the best equipment money can buy for these kids. Thank you.
