Switching to Dexcom+Tandem Mobi

Hi! I am switching from Libre and multiple daily injections to Dexcom g7 and tandem mobi pump for the remainder of my pregnancy. Currently 10w3d. I've been staying in Tight range about 70-75% of my day on the MDIs but I don't want to poke myself anymore. I'm type 1.5 (LADA) since Feb.

I'm nervous about the dexcom, I hear many inaccuracies occur and that makes me nervous with the pump automatically feeding me insulin.

Any advice? Personal experience? Success stories?

Low carbs breads?

Do the "3 gram net carb" breads and pastries and foods I see ads for like carbe diem and "Hero Bread" actually make a difference in post meal blood sugar?

Im still learning how to bolus, craving pasta like crazy (pregnant) and I know it's already so hard to bolus for but would these brands make a difference?

Stem cells

Is it p worth continuing to try to convince my husband to bank our babys stem cells for a potential future "cure" - it's hard to even type it without rolling my own eyes.

What is your GAD

Does anyone know their actual GAD level?

I'm curious, my blood test results only says >250 but not the exact number. I apparently have to get it tested through a different special lab?

Did anyone do this to find out the actual number?

Sleeping with pumps

I'm getting ready to start the tandem mobi insulin pump.

I'm so excited. But really concerned with how it's going to interfere with sleeping comfortably.

Any advice?

If there was an award for over correcting... I'd qualify for sure

I am SO afraid of lows. Terrified. Because I'm still honeymooning I know my highs will always come down on their own so I haven't experienced high fright yet.

Id assume being high is less scary than being low?

Idk but once I see that down arrow after I take insulin I'm like nope. Juice box. Glucose tabs. Gummy bears. Check finger sugar obsessively every 15 minutes. Make my husband sit next to me. I hate hate hate lows.

Just venting :(

Just started basal

How much basal is everyone on?

My Endo just started me on four units a day (honeymooning) and I'm curious how much I may end up going on in the future. Ik everyone is different but I'm just curious how much people usually take.

Tandem mobi asap.

I'm going on the tandem mobi tomorrow. I'm so over it. I bolus what my endocrinologist recommends. Sometimes it's too much, sometimes it's not enough. My fasting sugars are NOT 95 or near it. Probably because for so long I was just starving myself of carbs, eating only keto, and now that I'm pregnant I NEED to eat more. I am not denying myself my cravings. If baby wants mashed potatoes and peas that's what I'm eating. I need to eat 175 carbs a day and before I found out I was pregnant I was eating 40-50 a day ...

I'm also switching endos because the one I was seeing told me insulin pumps aren't recommended for pregnancy? I said that to my diabetes education team and they were like... Whut?

I don't want to poke myself anymore. I don't want to guess. I'm so frustrated. I really hope the tandem changes things for me and I can be less nervous. I feel like crud enough as it is being pregnant, so tired, so queasy.

Positive thoughts, good experiences, encouragement?

LADA + Pregnancy is crazy

Just had two cups of cooked spaghetti, first pasta since diagnosis (February) and bolused 2 units. I'm still honeymooning so I'm not on a long acting yet. I know pregnancy causes increased insulin sensitivity (5w3d) but I had to drink 30 carbs and eat another 15 because I was dropping to low 70s, high 60s! After two cups of pasta?! That's 80 carbs, what the heck! Still under 100 after the extra carbs. Crazy!

Fellow LADA honeymooners!

Hi guys, I'm LADA and in my honeymoon phase, I haven't gone over ~260 yet but use insulin as needed.

Im curious how much insulin you take for a bagel? Do you scoop it? Do you only eat half? And specific bagel that you find hits you easier?

I know it's not an ideal choice of food for us but on the rare occasion id love a bagel, just haven't bolused for one since my DX. We don't know my ratio yet, we THINK it's 1:20 (we meaning me and my T1D team) but I've used that and have gone low from it and other times it wasn't enough at all.

Send all the vibes!

We had intercourse the 16th and 17th, this is our second cycle trying. Cross your fingers and toes! I now have to wait what feels like forever 😭 last month was so emotional. First time trying, every twinge and ting I convinced myself I was pregnant. Took way too many early tests just to get my period exactly when I was supposed to. It's so refreshing seeing so many other women have gone through the same, that I'm not alone!

Wishing everyone the most beautiful and least stressful journey as possible!

Operating Room Nurses

Hi, I was wondering if any OR nurses could tell me about their experience? Currently exploring different units and I don't personally know any OR nurses to ask. The opportunity is full time and day shift. Thank you!!

Where is everyone getting a job as a nurse in NJ?

The hospital I've been working at in northern NJ has a PCA is up for their magnet reaccreditation. My program I graduated from was an ADN program, not a BSN. I am enrolled in my BSN program and will complete it in 10-12mo. The magnet accreditation requires units to have 90% of their nurses have a BSN so despite already being an employee here I have not gotten a single lead on an RN position since I became a nurse. Classmates who have worked here for years are being forced to leave seniority and try to find another hospital to work at. Other hospitals in the area are also giving me the run around, telling me December is the next hiring surge...or that they filled their new grad positions already. Why did I think it would be an easier to get an RN job at a hospital? I am so discouraged.

Has anyone on oral minoxidil noticed cherry angiomas develop on their arms, legs, trunk, etc?

I have tiny flat ones, and a few that are raised and bigger. My blood work is fine, Ive been on oral minoxidil for androgenic alopecia and it's working miracles on my head but Im curious if there's a connection between the two

Queasiness Normal?

Is it normal to feel super queazy after this dip then spike then dip? I'm still in the honeymoon phase of LADA and I calculated too much insulin for the meal I had, I guess I didn't factor in the sequencing with the huge salad beforehand, my finger stick read 62 and I felt BAD. then I over corrected and spiked then I let my pancreas just bring the high down on its own and I'm so tired and nauseated now 😭

I found my fav libre 3 adhesives and I wanted to share

In case anyone needed an inexpensive, extremely soft, cute patterned, adhesive for a libre three I found these on Amazon!

The center isn't adhesive so you can take it off and change it if you need. It's so soft, so cute and doesn't irritate my skin.

I'm sure the brand makes for other CGMs but I haven't checked myself.

I'm under bolusing. I have LADA so my pancreas still kicks on after I eat. But in order to keep myself from hitting the 300s in the first place... I have to take a poke. But I'm so worried I'll give myself too much. I've never given myself more than 2 units and there are times I definitely should have (rip Sushi)

I want frozen yogurt so effing bad tonight and I don't know my ratio yet...I know 2 units isn't going to be enough... I'm scared, in my anger stage of diagnosis grief and I just want a fat serving of froyo 😩
