Hair stylist that knows ASL

Hello! I'm looking for a new hair person to just do simple cut. Unfortunately, mine moved to a different state. I am deaf and ideally knowing ASL is preferred. I am also willing to travel to Illinois.

Please let me know! Thank you!!

Smartphone accessibility advice

I’m switching from iPhone 13 mini and looking to get a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

I’ve been an iPhone user since forever. The reason that I’m switching is because I’m sick of Apple and they force us to buy a new phone every 4-5 years. I just want a phone that is reliable and lasts a long time and I’ve heard android is best in that department.

However, I am deaf and I use a relay interpreting service for video calls. It was recommended that iPhones are best for deaf users than android can give. It also provides better security.

I was wondering if yall might have any insight on what I should do. Should I stay with Apple and deal with their shenanigans or get an android (Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra)?

iPhone to android

Hi everyone,
I’m an iPhone user and have always had iPhones . My iPhone 13 mini is acting up so I’m looking to switch to an android . My fiance has a galaxy and he loves it!

I’m not looking for anything fancy. Just something reliable and lasts a long time. I am deaf so I do not make phone calls but video calls using a relay service.
Nice quality camera is important too.

I’m willing to spend a little extra if it’s worth it.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Elopement - budget friendly

My fiance and I are wanting to elope and get married at the Redwoods - not sure on location or date yet. We are super tight on budget and hoping to not spend any more than $2,000. We are just wanting an officiant and a photographer for an hour or two.

We might stay at a place there for our little honeymoon - again, not sure where. Does anyone have any recommendations on a budget friendly elopement at the redwoods? Please let me know!!!

Moving to NWI

My fiance and I are looking to move to NWI.

We have some options for where we are looking and would like to seek advice from someone who has lived there for a long time and might have some insight on demographics.

The areas we are looking into are:

- Highland

- Dyer

- Griffith

- Schereville

We are also interested in Munster, but are weary at how expensive the property taxes are.

Other areas we are interested in, but might be out of the picture due to distance of job location:

- Crown Point

- St John

My fiance works in Matteson, IL and works at an Amazon Fullfillment center in Problem Solve. There is an Amazon in Crown Point but it is only a distribution center and he will also have to take a pay cut if he were to relocate. It's an hour drive from CP to Matteson and with the hourly pay wage that he makes, we feel that it's not worth the commute.

Any advice or opinions on those places? Please help!

Thank you!!

Pain after period

Can someone please explain to me the science of having stabbing pains right when my period ends?

I'd have my period but as soon as it's over, I have debilitating chronic inflammation stabbing pains that won't go away for two weeks. My period is NOTHING compared to this pain.

I explained this to my doctor and she has no idea why. I'm on lyrica but it has not helped any.

Does anyone have similar symptoms and what has helped?

Thank you!

IC vs UTI

How can you distinguish the difference between IC and an UTI since IC can mimic UTI symptoms?

I have been diagnosed with IC, but having so much pressure in my urethra and frequently going to the bathroom - it gets worse at night when I'm trying to sleep. I also have trouble emptying it. I have been in a flare for three weeks now.

Thank you!!

Has anyone given up trying to manage the pain and went back on birth control?

The most debilitating pain I have is the week after my period. A level 10 pain that does not go away. I wear a hot patch on my back that helps but I fear it’s not good to use it all the time.

My doctor recommended a low dose of Micronor to see if I can tolerate a low dose progesterone and then increase Aygestin if tolerated.

Has anyone have any good positive experiences with these? Please help!!!

Pain after period

Has anyone dealt with chronic pain right after their period ends? I have the worst pain (10 out of 10) that would last for about a week. It constantly feels like my insides are stabbed and on fire and I'm constantly peeing. I have also been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis.

This pain would last for a week and then ovulation pain begins. Does anyone know why this happens?

Side note: My doctor prescribed Lyrica for nerve pain. I wanted to try SCRAMBLER therapy before starting. Has anyone found relief with this?

Hi all,

I have been on Lexapro 20mg and cross tapered and currently on 50mg Zoloft.

I switched at the same time when I was recovering from Endometriosis excision surgery. The pain is overwhelming and the switch made it even worse. I had horrible side effects and insomnia.

I am considering going back on Lexapro since it has only been four days that I was on 50mg Zoloft.

My body is still healing and not fully ready to switch. Maybe when I’m fully healed, I’ll consider it again. Did anybody have this problem??

Has anyone struggled with depersonalization from being paralyzed in pain?

I had my first laprascopic exicison surgery on March 31st, returned to work on April 23rd. I thought I was ready to go back to work, but my body thought otherwise. I have been in pain for two weeks - it feels like a constant flare up like my whole insides are on fire.

This in turn causes my body to be numb to everything. Does it get better? Please help!!!
