You shouldn’t be able to post a review of a place if ordered through Uber eats / Doordash / whatever

Your food is going to be fucked most of the time, or at a bare minimum shaken and cold.

When people post negative reviews on here, they often reveal in the comments that they ordered through uber eats, which obviously is going to completly change the food, making your review invalid.

Sucks to see people bashing on my local in CBD when they’ve gotten it delivered like 30 mins away. I mean seriously think about it, it’s completly unfair on the business and creates an untrue negative perception.

There should really be a blanket ban on uber eats reviews, since at the end of the day you’re reviewing a combo of:

  1. The traffic conditions on the day
  2. How much your slave driver gives a shit
  3. Whether your slave driver uses a scooter or bike vs a car
  4. If the algorithm favours you, and your food is the first or last delivery

Edit: a dedicated flair is an acceptable compromise. @Mods.

‘It looks like a prison’: Why older New Zealanders won’t buy the homes being built for them

Sounds like these boomers need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps!

Seriously pathetic. Honestly fuckem it’s about time they live like the rest of us. I wish I could gripe about having to sell my home and “downsize” into a “prison” townhouse. Instead I just get to rent one!

Looking for flatmate to move in

Hi

Been in the search for a flatemate- ideally student or young professional to move into an empty room in my townhouse. Not a lot of luck so far on Trademe just wondering where everyone else suggests to post the listing?

If anyone is after a room near the CBD for $200-$250 a week feel free to message me aswell.

Posting here since r/nz mods didn’t like my take.

For context: I voted greens last election, and will be voting labour this year. I’m a university educated young professional, I live/work in CBD and I don’t believe in the death penalty.

My gripe though is that it seems that the ‘left’ bloc in NZ is very avoidant of accepting that change is needed to sentencing in this country- whether it be for sexual offences or violent crime.

I know myself, and the majority of other Gen-Z left voters I know, would heavily support locking up violent or sexual offenders for much longer periods.

Yes this post is inspired by the 2.5 year sentence for the Dunedin gang scum that had previously killed someone and was just sentenced for an unprovoked assault. I really think scum like that person I’ve just mentioned have forfeited their right to live in our society, and I’m tired of people online who seem to share reasonably similar political takes with me just pulling the wool over their eyes on this issue. On that note, it seems everyone I interact with in the real world shares a similar opinion. Who would’ve thought.
