5/23/26. Giants get shut out.

TOKYO DOME - Last night's game against the Tigers was not good for the Giants offense. Trey Cabbage got close to having an RBI early in the game, but ultimately got out. Forrest Whitley took the loss as he gave up 3 runs to the Tigers. This puts the Giants 4.0 games behind first, and losing 3 games in their last 10. Hopefully tonight they can take at least one game against the Tigers to keep them away from first place. GO GIANTS!

(I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THAT I WILL USE THE NEW SCORECARD WHEN THE TEAM WINS THEIR NEXT GAME!! STAY TUNED!)

(ALSO, ALSO MY HARD DRIVE RAN OUT OF SPACE, SO I CAN'T GIVE YOU THE HIGHLIGHTS, SORRY 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️)

5/22/26. Haurto Inoue did not have a great day.

TOKYO DOME - The Giants were back on home ground last night. Things from the get go didn't look too good as Haruto Inoue gave up 3 runs in the 1st inning including a 2-Run Home Run. The damage only continued as Inoue kept giving up hits in big spots, allowing 4 more runs to score by the 5th inning. HOWEVER, Bobby Dalbec came through with a big base hit, allowing Kota Hirayama to score in the 6th. In the 7th, Go Matsumoto also came out big with an RBI, which was then followed by a monster 2-Run Home Run by Trey Cabbage. Good effort late in the game by the boys, but it was ultimately too late. Giants lose 7-4.

GIANTS ARCHIVE (07/31/1998): Giants Pitcher Balvino Galvez Loses His Composure and Attacks an Umpire.

KOSHIEN STADIUM, HYOGO - An intense game between the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants turned wild after Pitcher Balvino Galvez alleged that the umpire was making bad calls. In turn, this frustrated Galvez and made him lose his composure. The next pitch he threw would be a home run, and Manager Shigeo Nagashima ordered for a pitching change. Galvez refused to leave, having to be physically restrained by his teammates and dragged off the field. He was seen breaking free from his teammates multiple times, and even elbowing his teammate Kosuke Yoshihara by mistake. As Galvez eventually began to leave the field, he took the ball he was holding and threw it in the direction of the umpire, striking Tiger's player Hidemitsu Hizawa in the back. The umpire and Galvez almost brawled as Nagashima tried breaking them up.

Galvez was handed a season ending suspension the next morning and a hefty fine from the Central Leauge. The Giants higher-ups were so upset with him that they suspended him indefinitely for his actions. As penance for the incident, Shigeo Nagashima shaved his head and apologized to everyone involved.

5/21/26. Giants miss multiple opportunities to score.

MEIJI JINGU STADIUM, TOKYO - Last night's game at the Swallows was an evenly matched game. Per the NPB's website, Masahiro Tanaka took the mound for the Giants and gave up 3 runs in the first 2 innings of the game. Bobby Dalbec came up in the third, and drove in an RBI, turning the score 3-1. After that, the Giants found themselves in multiple spots where they could score, but didn't as they stranded multiple runners, including two in the 9th inning. A pop out by Naoki Yoshikawa was close to getting to the ground as the Yakult infielder tripped, but ultimately caught the ball. Final score: 1-3.

THE NEXT SERIES WILL BE CRUCIAL FOR YOMIURI AS THEY FACE THE HANSHIN TIGERS TO COMPETE FOR SECOND PLACE. CHEER FOR THEM! LETS GO GIANTS!

YORK IWAKI STADIUM, IWAKI PREFECTURE- Yesterday night’s game versus the Swallows was great pitchers duel which saw starter Shosei Togo give up no runs, and strike out 5. The pitching did the rest of the work, locking down the game in a shutout. Giants won 2-0. They are now contending with the Yakult Swallos and Hanshin Tigers for 1st place in the Central League. My entire NPB collection so far, after collecting for two months.

It’s been about 2 months since I really got into the Giants (starting my fandom in 2024), and started watching their games. I am a huge Hayato Sakamoto fan, and have huge respect for Shigeo Nagashima. In my collection is:

1.) Hayato Sakamoto jersey (Under Armor from around 2018-2020
2.) Jikkyou Pawafuru Puro Yakyuu 9, for GameCube
3.) Shigeo Nagashima tshirt (Fanatics, probably from 2023/24)
4.) Jikkyou Pawafuru Puro Yakyuu Pocket 5, for Game Boy Advance
6.) Jikkyou Pawafuru Puro Yakyuu Pocket 1, For Game Boy Color
7.) Ikkyu Hayato Sakamoto Black “Retro” jersey (I have no information on this one and would love to find out more!)
8.) Yomiuri Giants Cap (Under Armor, 2022)
9.) Yomiuri Giants Cap (Cross Cap, 1985-1990)

5/16/26. Giants Take Game Two of Black Diamond Series by using Baseball Fundementals.

TOKYO DOME - In tonight's game, we saw the Giants play small ball in great ways. From the start, pitcher Forrest Whitley gave up a solo home run, but the Giants quickly recovered when Shuunsuke Sakaki nailed a hit into left field, scoring a run in the 2nd. Whitley would give up 2 more, but the Giants answered right back in the 3rd when Trey Cabbage hit a line drive to score 2 and tie the game at 3-3. In the 7th, Giants managed to get runners on 2nd and 3rd base, and a hit by Bobby Dalbec gave the team the lead. Closer Raidel Martinez pitched brilliantly, closing out the game. Giants win 4-3, 2.5 Games behind 1st Place. Great job!
