I’ve been picking up decent quality counterfeits lately as I find the art of counterfeiting quite impressive. Almost like a puzzle or a hidden picture image. For me there was one dead giveaway, but only because currency is my hobby. But would have probably flown over the head of the average spender.
Guesses?
I know I’ve posted these a couple times before but it’s worth repeating for the newer members.
For me this is one of the best advertisements for this group and the annual conference at Heritage Auctions.
I only know about these notes’ significance because of that conference. These are from the last shipment of National bank notes, all due to an accounting error.
After Lee Lofthus’ talk on the end of the NB era, I immediately began looking for an example from this batch of notes. And in very short time I got lucky. Twice in fact.
The $20 is the first 20 from the shipment. The 10 isn’t as prominent. I feel these are the most relevant notes I own.
Second, I need to extend my deepest appreciation to r/Raidenh8 for not only restoring these beautifully. He did such a great job!! He also helped me get them submitted with the holder designation as being from the final shipment.
Im grateful for him and all of Heritage for what they do for this hobby and all others.
Andrew Kizis and Frank Loro both served as cashier, at this time Kizis was the Asst and Loro was VP, just before his death in 1906. The seller speculated that the other signatures on the front could be tellers or other employees. Maybe a keepsake during Loro’s failing health? I couldn’t find anything on them.
The signatures on the back are the names of singers: Doc Williams, Bill Monroe, and Sunset Carson. I’m in the process of trying to authenticate them but I wouldn’t put money on their legitimacy. But who knows!
I may be able to swing a job opportunity working in NY. The catch is I don’t necessarily have to be in any one spot and can domicile anywhere in NY state. That’s the hook, when on the clock I have to be physically in NY state.
What’s the closest and shortest way to commute to be in actual NY state from the immediate New Haven area considering my hours would likely be 7-4 or 8-5
For example I have a table with a name, date, and need two spots for documents that I’d just like to be able to click a link for it and have it open a PDF so I can view and/or print it.
I’m hoping there’s a way to do it that if I emailed the sheet others would have that same access.
Is that possible?

R. K. Smith served as both Cashier and VP simultaneously for a time. I feel like if I were also VP I’d want to endorse things with my higher title. I wonder if he had the stamp made for bank notes or was it just for general use that this also was used for.

So apparently when I bought my phone a year ago the Apple Store automatically signed me up for Apple care.
Well, last week it auto renewed and drafted from my PayPal account charging my debit card. I called to cancel, they happily obliged and initiated a refund.
They said the refund would go back to the original method. Should take 3-5 days.
Welp, a week later nothing so I call back and they said it refunded onto an Apple credit card. Well, I don’t have one and never did.
Long story short they say they can’t refund me my money because it was already refunded so there’s no mechanism to do so and now I need to dispute it with PayPal.
So someone got $146 credit on their Apple Card and I’m SOL if PayPal isn’t going to take my side
Does anyone here make infinity bottles? I decided to start one. Who knows. Maybe I’ll regret sacrificing the last 1.5 oz. But worth a shot.
