On the face of it, Newport is extremely well located.
1 hour 40 minutes to paddington by train
35 minutes to Bristol temple meads by train
15 minutes to Cardiff by train
1 hour to Bristol airport
Easy day trips to Gower, Brecon
Understandably, Newport is fairly deprived and so isnt seen as an attractive place to live.
I know it would take years and money that just isnt there, but are there any big plans in the future to try and change things? it seems like it would be easier to make it attractive thn many other areas?
paid £30 for a bike fitting measurement at a local bike shop and discussion about which bike models would suit me.
im a 5'10 bloke, but have a long neck / big head - curse you genetics. Most other 5'10 people have higher shoulders than me. I was told that my legs are about average length for my boby, perhaps a 1cm shorter than expected
I explained I was looking for an endurance type bike for the road and very light trails.
The software the bike fitter had, came up with me needing medium / large frames that are typically for riders that are 5'11 to 6'2.
Would a larger frame mean a longer reach? this just seems a little odd to me as I would have guessed a smaller frame would be better? The fitter said 'we might just have a change for. longer stem which is cheap' but wouldn't it be easier to have a bike with less reach?
any attempt at an explanation would be appreciated.
Is there a rule of thumb with bike depreciation or is it all depending on model by model, conditon etc?
I was looking to buy a used bike (trek domane, aluminium frame, carbon fork) thats currently £1300 new, someone on marketplace the same model (but previous gen) as its a 2021 model. Trying to sell it for £800 saying its never been ridden.
That feels expensive to me, even if its been kept in a box for 5 years
I appreciate this is vague, but ndo bikes depreciate a bit like cars? surely any bike takes a big in value as soon as someone has bought it?
Plus bike to work scheme means so many used bikes are more expensive than a new bike on bike to work.
Hi everyone, apologies for my lack of wine knowledge I’m just getting into it.
I have heard that Costco has a good selection of wines at lower prices than most other retailers.
I’m very early on in my wine tasting journey. But so far, have loved Primitivo and Malbec. I like fruity, soft tannin, low acidity red wines, with Jammy / smoky notes.
I was wondering what could be reccomended in the £10-30 range at Costco
budget of 18-19k
need 200 miles real world range
Open to any suggestions
Dont want any of the VW group touch screens
i have a £2k budget 5'10 so medium frame in most bikes
Looking for an allroad bike - 85% of my cycling will be on tarmac with 15% on hard packed trails. I ride with friends who have road bikes, so dont want the bike to be sluggish on the road
Under 10kg but ideally under 9kg but still has mounts for mudguards and pannier rack?
