Last year I decided I wanted to join a band having never played an instrument before. I was too broke to get anything of my own so the guitar player in my band let me borrow me her bass, which i’ve been learning and playing on for about a year. I work in vintage clothing so I knew I wanted a vintage bass and fell in love with the alembic style basses. I found a few on marketplace but I don’t know much about gear and was worried I’d buy one that needs a lot of work, but then I found this beauty at a used instrument store that’s been well tested and decided to go for it. They even let me finance it, which is super helpful. I’m super stoked!

She’s a 1977 Japanese made El Degas

been learning bass for a bit under a year and have been borrowing my guitar players bass and looking to get my own. saw this on marketplace and was immediately drawn to it. i absolutely love the look of a vintage bass. the guy has it listed as a vintage el degas bass for $550. curious if this is a fair price as i don’t know anything about buying a bass. also wondering if anything sticks out as a problem. the guy doesn’t seem to know too much about it and says he’s a drummer and was using this for recording. he said everything seems to be great on it, the switches and knobs all seem to work but he would recommend a set up as the action is a bit high.

any advice or help would be very much appreciated!

relatively new bassist in a band and i’m currently borrowing my guitarists bass and looking to get my own soon. i really dig the look of the clear acrylic but i don’t know much about equipment. it’s listed for $260. is it junk or would it be decent? can’t really find this exact model online anywhere else. brand says ktone

found this amazing 70s wrangler denim jacket that someone recently embroidered all over which ruins it for me. i’m slowly plugging away at it but it’s gonna take me a loooong time. luckily there’s no interfacing inside. any tips?
