Has anyone ever successfully sued the state after not having obtainable access to OBC caused catastrophe?

Hi all, I'm curious if anyone has suffered losses from a medical crisis or any other financial crisis and sued the state because they wouldn't have otherwise suffered these losses had the state provided access to their OBC.

I realize this one might be a bit of a long shot, but it's worth reaching out and seeing!

If you think this is valuable, bumps would be appreciated.

Anyone in the Medford/Camberville area interested in creating a local collective network to help support each other with invisible disabilities?

Hi All,

Med-Cambervillian here!

I'm looking to start a network with other people who need functional and low-needs support with an invisible disability.

(I'm still trying to work out what type of platform to put this on)

This would be for people with an invisible disability who sometimes struggle with daily tasks but can do them at other times and can pay it back.

This would be helpful for low-support tasks (e.g., errands, grocery shopping, basic tasks), where we can check in with the group to see who else needs help or to schedule things with others to do them together.

I'm not sure exactly where this would live on the internet or what it would look like (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook, Reddit, etc.), and I'd need to create some guidelines (e.g., functional support doesn't mean people are paid/paying).

And I'm looking to do this the Camberville/Medford area.

Trying to start a local network for citizens in the Camberville/Medford area that need dynamic support for invisible disability

Hi everyone,

In the spirit of trying to create and strengthen community, I'm hoping that I'm not the only one out here who has this problem.

More often than not, requests to support someone with an invisible disability - ex. offering a ride to get groceries, help with weekly meal prepping, follow-up calls from government programs, etc., are, unfortunately, met with confusion of offers for solutions from others, and the needs aren't met.

I'm not sure where/how this group is going to live on the internet, but I'm sure there are other people out there that are looking for help in the Camberville/Medford area that are dynamically disabled or have an invisible disability where there can be a bartering system for those who need functional help from time to time to help them keep track with things in life!

If you are someone who would find this useful and happens to live in the Medford/Cambridge/Somerville area, I'd love to hear from you!

During times of isolation, it would be nice to have people around who are somehow personally vetted (meetup/virtual groups) to offer support.

If this is something that you would like to be a part of, please feel free to DM me or respond here! I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance! I'm crossing my fingers on this one!

Working on a Local Invisible Disability Support Network, Please DM if interested.

UPDATE: This is not to discriminate against visible disabilities or abled folks; all are welcome to join. The goal is to create a community of people who are able to connect and help each other out with low-support needs (grocery shopping, administrative tasks at libraries, etc.) without confusion or judgment.

Hi All,

I'm not sure where on the internet this would live or how to make this happen, but I would like to start an invisibility support network for people who are struggling with invisible disabilities and need others to help with daily living tasks during times when they're struggling the most.

This would be for low-support individuals who need help with things like grocery shopping, errand running, and tasks that most people wouldn't understand why help was needed, and the ask goes stale while help is still required.

If anyone finds this helpful and can participate in an interdependent way, please DM me.

I'd love to hear from you! Seriously!

If you're in the Metro-west Area of Boston - Somerville/Medford/Cambridge/Watertown, etc. I'M LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN...

Hi Everyone, I'm going to cross-post this, but I'm not sure who in here is in the Metrowest area of Massachusetts outside of Boston?

Somerville/Cambridge/Medford/Watertown... that neck of the woods.

I'm working on building a network of people who can live "interdependently" with others who have invisible disabilities. If you're interested in helping me start something so we can help each other out, please let me know so we can put our spiky skill sets together and help each other when we can.

I'd have to come up with some guidelines... ex. any support autism but low-support requests (ex. driving, grocery store trips/buddies, etc.)

If you're in this area and think this would be helpful, please feel free to DM me.

Thanks!
