A relative made a post and used two words I assume are dialect, sventolon and burasca. What do each of these words mean?

My great great grandfather died in Albania in the Greco-Italian war oh 1940-1941.

I’m currently trying to read as much about it as I can, hoping to learn about what he went through.

Currently Im reading a wonderful war diary called Written on the knee by Dr Theodore Electris.

I’m hoping to find more books like this, any idea where I should look?

I have been thinking a lot about the large photograph collection I have of my family and have been considering going through it and noting down who’s in the photos on the backs of each of them as the idea of this knowledge is heartbreaking to me as a family historian.

I know that a lot of factors impact the preservation of photographs and am hesitant to use just any random pen in case i damage the photo/s in any way.

The collection of thinking of ranges from photographs from the 1930s to 2010s.

Sorry if this is a silly question to ask!

In light of the responses to my previous post, it has come to my attention that I should put more effort into looking for a professional transcriber to transcribe the pages of my grandfathers’ criminal records I find difficult to do myself.

I’m not looking for translation help, just transcription.

If anyone here is available or knows someone I can hire please let me know!!

These are criminal records from about 1920-1960, including court records, interviews of witnesses, victims, etc.

Hi all, I’m wondering if there is a reason why my previous transcription requests may not be getting answered?

I’ve asked this sub for help ALOT with helping me transcribe the large amounts of criminal records I have on two grandfathers of mine. I’m so very grateful for that help, it has an immense impact on my research.

I worry though that I may have asked for help too much or that maybe my posts are scaring people away? my last few requests have had no answer and other channels i’ve pursued for help have also not replied, so I can only assume that myself or my posts are the problem.

If you have the time, please check my last few posts and let me know how I can improve them for possible transcribers. Any feedback is appreciated

Also, I eventually want this research to be turned into a book, so if you are someone who has helped me in the past with transcription and would like credit for that work please pm me so I can note down how you would like to be credited (e.g. name or reddit username, etc).

So, I’m disabled and deal with agoraphobia.
When I read Metamorphosis by Kafka I felt so seen with my disability and everything.
So now I’m hoping to find some books that will speak to my agoraphobia.

Whether it’s a book that will give me hope, motivation or just something I may relate to, I’m eager to hear your recommendations!

For context; I was baptised catholic as a baby, but I never got to do the other sacraments. Now, as an adult, I’ve found faith again and want to get closer to god and his church.

The problem is that I am disabled and unable to leave my home without support. I’m severely agoraphobic.

Do I have any options here apart from pushing these feelings back until I’m better?

Any advice or suggestions would be great appreciated!
