First time really trying street photography (Leica Q2) - looking for honest feedback

I’ve been shooting for years but always stuck to architecture and nature because I’m a bit uncomfortable pointing a camera at strangers (doesn’t help that I’m 6’3” and feel like I stick out). I decided I wanted to push myself to shoot some candid moments and scenes with strangers in them, which is the work I’ve always wanted to make.

These are from an evening walk around my neighborhood in Portland, OR. I’m trying to focus on catching real moments and using the environment to frame people. Running Mastin Labs Portra preset for the Lightroom edit.

Would love some feedback on the candid shots. Where am I getting it right, where am I missing, and how do you all get more comfortable shooting people in public?

Just got a Leica Q2 after 5 years with my X100V - first time editing in Lightroom in years, looking for feedback on my direction

I picked up a used Leica Q2 yesterday after shooting nothing but JPEGs straight out of my Fuji X100V for the last five years. The X100V’s film simulations meant I never really touched Lightroom, so jumping back into post-processing has been a learning curve..

I grabbed the Mastin Labs Portra Original presets because I wanted to chase a film-forward look while still keeping that “Leica feel” people talk about. These shots are all from an evening walk around my neighborhood at golden hour, so I know I had lighting working in my favor here.

I’m heading to Puerto Rico for a little over a week starting Friday, and I want to be comfortable with my process before I get there. I know these golden hour shots are probably my best-case scenario; I’d really appreciate feedback not just on whether these edits are working, but also tips for shooting in different lighting conditions. If anyone has experience shooting in tropical environments like Puerto Rico, I’d love to hear your approach to handling the harsh midday sun, strong colors, and mixed light situations.

I’m trying to figure out what my actual style is going to be with this camera, so honest feedback on all of this would be really valuable.
