Experience and audits

I have initiated and lead a number of projects, but I’m worried my title of “technician” may trigger an audit. If I fail an audit because they don’t agree I’ve demonstrated my work as qualifying, do I get a refund for my exams fee? And can I then immediately sit for the CAPM instead, or will I be penalized for failing the audit and be barred.

I’m not looking to defraud the system, but I am worried I’m not qualified. A bit of background, I work as a museum technician (20 years). In the last 5 years I’ve reshaped our environmental monitoring systems and protocols. Ive done a number of object survey projects, storage relocation projects, etc. I don’t manage anyone, but I have created the protocols to delegate tasks to other team members. The capm group assured me to shoot for the PMP instead.

Sell or rent a property that’s paid off

I think I know my answer, but I’d like other opinions. I bought a house in 2005 for $72k. It’s a tiny bungalow that I paid off in 2010. I moved in with my partner and pay them $800 in rent while I rent my property out for $1500 a month. I only make about $50k at my job, so the rental income does help grow my savings. But soon the home will need a new roof and the kitchen could use a facelift. The washer and dryer are a porch turned into a mud room and I’m always battling a frozen machine in the dead of winter because the tenants aren’t the best at keeping the heater on out there. I’m getting offers for $130k to sell. Should I do it? Taxes are only about $1600/year. Insurance is about the same.

Career change advice

I have a masters in art history. I spent a few years as an “executive” coordinator at an art gallery, a couple of years as a collections technician and then spent the last 20 some years working in art conservation at a state museum. I’ve traveled the world, I’ve handled some of the most precious objects on the earth and a really love what I do. But guys, I’m getting old and I need a better salary. There’s no upward mobility at my institution. I’m starting to look at quick certifications that I can add to a resume to land a better paying state job (I need the pension). I haven’t ever been a supervisor and I’m worried I won’t be able to land a better role. Any advice for what certificates I can study for to make up for my lack of senior skills? Obviously I’m leaning toward project management. I at least have loads of experience working with teams to install exhibitions so I think I’d excel.

Delivery damage

Is this legit?! I went to buy a dishwasher at our local Lowe’s. Online they had 19 available. I driver there, inquire about buying one and was told either have it delivered to your house for $39 on Friday or have it shipped to the store for pickup 2 weeks later. Fine, I guess the stock online is incorrect. I chose the delivery to my home for $39. They deliver it, box looks ok accept for a crease at the back. I unbox it completely and notice the whole back side is crushed. The delivery guy already left. I call Lowe’s…the automated prompts direct me to return the product to the store. I load it up in my truck, go to customer service. They refund me and direct me to the appliances to arrange for another delivery. I assume the delivery charge will just be waived since they couldn’t refund that part at the customer service desk. But nope, they can’t refund or waive delivery charges!!!! Even the manager wouldn’t help. They said I was supposed to call to arrange for the damaged unit to be picked up from my house. But the phone prompts didn’t say that. So now I’m out $39 for a delivery fee that was the cause of the damaged product to begin with. First, do I have recourse to have this returned by corporate.Second, out of curiosity, why can’t I just pick up the one of the 19 available at the store?!!!!! Any advice is welcome.

Oled controller for sale US?

Anybody in the US have an oled display control for sale. I have the original display and wanted to upgrade, but didn’t want to spend $70 plus shipping (and they are out of stock anyway). I’ve had no luck on eBay or F-book marketplace. Used is fine as long as it works.
