tw// rape, transphobia and death
>!"During a Christmas Eve party, Nissen and Lotter grabbed Teena and forced him to remove his pants, proving to Tisdel that he had a vulva Tisdel looked only when forced to and said nothing. Lotter and Nissen later assaulted Teena and forced him into a car. They drove to an area by a meat-packing plant in Richardson County, where they assaulted and gang-raped him. They then returned to Nissen's home, where Teena was ordered to take a shower. He escaped from Nissen's bathroom by climbing out the window and going to Tisdel's house. He was convinced by Tisdel to file a police report, though Nissen and Lotter had warned Teena they would kill him if he did so. Teena also went to the emergency room, where a standard rape kit was assembled but later lost. Sheriff Charles B. Laux questioned Teena about the rape. Reportedly, he seemed especially interested in his transgender status, to the point that Teena found his questions rude and unnecessary and refused to answer. Nissen and Lotter were taken in for police questioning. Despite ample evidence, Laux neglected to arrest and charge Nissen and Lotter, and Laux told them both a rape had been reported. Laux declined to have them arrested because, "What kind of a person was she? The first few times we arrested her, she was putting herself off as a guy." Teena's mother later filed a wrongful death suit, where the Nebraska Supreme Court found Laux's inaction resulted in Teena's death.!<
>!Around 1:00 a.m. on December 31, 1993, Nissen and Lotter drove to Lambert's house and broke in. They found Lambert in bed and demanded to know where Teena was. Lambert refused to tell them. Nissen searched and found him hiding under a blanket at the foot of the bed. The men asked Lambert if there was anyone else in the house, and she replied that Phillip DeVine, who at the time was dating Tisdel's sister, was staying with her. The duo then shot Teena in the stomach. Nissen testified in court that he had noticed that Teena was twitching, and asked Lotter for a knife, with which Nissen stabbed Teena in the chest, to ensure that he was dead.Nissen later testified that he shot Lambert in the stomach. After leaving the room to find DeVine, and then returning with him, Nissen shot Lambert a second time. The two men then took DeVine into the living room, sat him on the couch, and shot him twice. Nissen then returned to the bedroom where he shot Lambert a few more times. The two men then left, threw their weapons and gloves onto a frozen river, and returned to Falls City. They were arrested that afternoon, after which Nissen told deputies that he had witnessed John Lotter shoot three people to death in Humboldt. Police went to the river, where they retrieved the gloves and weapons, including the knife's sheath marked with Lotter's name, tying them to the crime.!<
>!Brandon Teena is buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska. His headstone is inscribed with his and the epitaph daughter, sister, & friend."!<
found this out because i was curious about the meme origins. i know this isnt light hearted and fun, so it might not fit this subreddit, but it was important enough information that i thought it was worthy of being posted somewhere
The original image is from an unrelated segment to the quote, its the final image
no there was no original post what how dare you i definitely didnt mistake two people
People have done this before but i wanted to give it a try because it seemed fun. If the title doesn't make sense, every team consists of 4 people that have never shared an MCC together in any combination. This is a super fun, yet difficult thing to do as you have to keep in mind 4 peoples event histories.
It gets harder here because i made it a rule that invitationals don't count, so players from jingle jam/rising/magenta/hermit takeover can't be on teams unless theyve played regular MCC's before. Otherwise making the teams becomes far to easy. You can also do a rule where people have to play 5+ events if you wanna play on hard mode LMAO
It was interesting to do because i wanted to include some long term players that were very surprising, which was tough because when two people have played for 8+ years its hard to find people neither have teamed with.
Surprising duos from each team
RED: kara + scott (honestly probably the most insane duo that haven't played before, 100 mcc's between them)
ORANGE: Owen + Seapeekay (former ATMCC cohosts which makes their lack of duoing weird. I mean they are quite strong as a duo, but stronger duos happen regularly in almost every event.)
YELLOW: Gumi + Jojo (i just think itd be neat, and more gumi in mcc is always welcomed)
LIME: Xisuma + HBomb (feels like he just instantly teams with every hermit, yknow?)
GREEN: TapL + Joel (makes sense when you consider tapl used to be a top 5 player, but still think theyd make a great duo)
CYAN: noone, just wanted to make a spanish team for this. also PLEASE SYLVEE COME BACK TO MCC
AQUA: Ant + sleepy (its quite a strong duo so i kinda get it, + sleepy is very new)
BLUE: Feinberg + Sparklez (feel like it should've happened before, and it would be nice to see a good team for sparklez)
PURPLE: Pete + Tubbo (very surprising imo, they would be a really fun duo, and this team would be super cool)
PINK: SB + Hannah (makes sense when you consider SB played like one event per year but still, would be a super enjoyable team and im surprised given their joint lifesteal involvement)
Id love to see anyone else give this a go
I don't have an issue with sampling/interpolation, or taking inspiration. what i get mad about is when they literally ctrl c + ctrl v major instrumental components and just shittily sing/rap over it. it feels so soulless and lazy, and retroactively makes the song worse
Doechii- Anxiety. everytime this song comes on I think it's going to be Somebody I used to know, and you'd have no way of telling until she starts rapping.
Vanilla Ice- Ice Ice Baby. completely steals the instrumental of under pressure, and the fact he tries to defend it and say it's not copying is insane to me.
Pitbull- Feel This Moment. the drop is just Take on Me played on a shitty synth. Pitbull is a great guy but also an awful musician
granted maybe part of the problem is that it's always bad/uninteresting singers who copy large parts of songs.
im so glad they changed it because i honestly dont understand why they made this a format. there is nothing wrong with the normal format, and this one just means the same top ranked players are gonna win most of the time because they have to play less matches and have less risk of losing. Also the vods arent available, but i imagine its a lot less interesting as a viewer when you watch the same person play 20 matches while the big streamers arent playing till the 2nd weekend.
genuinely a confusing decision
