IndiGo’s new Lite fare makes no sense after comparing it with Ryanair

I was curious about IndiGo’s new Lite fare, so I did a quick comparison.

For an IndiGo Delhi to Bengaluru flight, the difference between the Lite fare (no checked bag) and the fare that includes a checked bag was only around Rs 150 to Rs 180 (about $2).

Then I checked a similar length Ryanair route, Berlin to Barcelona. The difference between the Regular fare and the Plus fare, which includes a 20 kg checked bag, was about €14 (~$16).

That got me thinking.

If a 20 kg checked bag is apparently worth only ₹150 on a domestic flight in India, why introduce a Lite fare at all? It feels less like giving customers a meaningful choice and more like creating another fare category for marketing purposes.

At least with Ryanair, the pricing difference is significant enough that you can understand why someone would choose one fare over the other. With IndiGo, the difference is so small that the Lite fare seems almost pointless.

Am I missing something here, or does this pricing strategy is a pure scam?

What do airline pilots think of Captain Steve’s claim that Indian pilots are viewed as “demigods” who can do no wrong?

I was watching Captain Steve’s latest video on the Air India Flight 171 investigation, and around 3:51, he says that pilots in India are viewed as “demigods” who are “incapable of doing wrong,” and that this is one of the reasons releasing the investigation is politically sensitive.

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cpkGmJijLM&t=231s

Honestly, I had to pause the video.

Where did he get this idea?

I’m Indian, and this couldn’t be further from reality. Airline pilots here are respected, just like they are in most countries, but they’re absolutely not treated as “demigods.” If a pilot makes a mistake, the media, social media, and the public have no problem criticizing them. They are fired by airlines, slapped by angry passengers, etc. We’ve seen it happen many times.

It honestly feels like Captain Steve is making sweeping claims about a country he doesn’t really understand. There are plenty of reasons an accident investigation can be delayed, but blaming it on some imaginary culture where pilots are supposedly beyond criticism is just an absurd stereotype.

I usually enjoy his videos, which is why this comment was so disappointing. Am I the only one who found this take completely detached from reality?

Wait… £11.40/hr or £1/hr? 🤔

Study reward: £0.19

Platform says:
“1 minute (£11.40/hr)”

Study description says:
“Time required: 8-12 minutes”

So which one is it? The study or the laws of mathematics? The researcher is Indian, and before anyone says anything, so am I.

Can ping IPs but not domains after installing LuLu on macOS

Has anyone experienced DNS issues with LuLu on macOS 26.5.1?

I recently installed LuLu because I really like the idea behind it, but after installing it, I started having strange network problems.

The internet works normally at first, then after about 20-30 minutes, all websites stop loading. Wi-Fi is still connected, and the connection works fine on my phone and other devices. On the Mac, I can still ping IP addresses like 1.1.1.1 successfully, but domain names such as google.com stop resolving. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox all fail at the same time.

I also noticed that the issue sometimes appears after waking the Mac from sleep.

I’m using NextDNS, but I’ve been using it for months without any problems, so I don’t think it’s the root cause. The issue only started after installing LuLu and its network extension.

The only reliable fix was to log out and log back in, or restart the Mac. After uninstalling LuLu, the problem appears to be gone.

I’m not trying to criticize the project because I genuinely like what it’s trying to do. I'm using other tools from the same project. I’m just curious whether anyone else has seen similar DNS or network extension issues on recent versions of macOS.

Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocking Amazon.in checkout?

Hi everyone,

This morning I was trying to buy something on Amazon.in from my laptop. When I got to checkout and entered my credit card details, the payment was blocked. I tried several times and it failed each time. I then tried a different credit card from another bank and that was also blocked.

Eventually, I completed the purchase using a different payment method on my phone, and it went through without any issues.

There is nothing wrong with either credit card. In fact, I had successfully used one of those cards earlier the same morning for another purchase from Amazon via my phone.

After checking Malwarebytes Browser Guard, I noticed that it appears to have blocked Amazon.in x2 times around the same time.

Has anyone else experienced Browser Guard interfering with legitimate purchases or payment pages on Amazon? I’m trying to figure out whether Browser Guard could have been the reason the transactions were being blocked.

Thanks.

Question for the Malwarebytes developers

Have you guys ever considered releasing a more lightweight/de-bloated version of Malwarebytes again?

A version focused mainly on core malware/adware protection without things like VPN and other extra bundled features.

I’ve been seeing more people lately asking for a simpler and lighter security app experience again, especially on macOS where many users already use separate tools for VPN and privacy.

Would genuinely love to know if this has ever been discussed internally, because I’d install a minimal Malwarebytes version immediately.

Genuine question: Is Kaspersky Password Manager actually underrated?

I’m asking specifically about real world performance, stability, autofill quality, sync, browser integration, Android experience, desktop experience, etc. Not interested in geopolitical arguments or “Russia bad” comments. I already use Kaspersky Antivirus on desktop and phone, and honestly, found it better than Bitdefender on my Android in actual usage.

So I’m curious: ignoring politics/privacy debates for a moment, how good is Kaspersky Password Manager as an actual product in day-to-day use compared to things like Proton Pass, Bitwarden, 1Password, NordPass, etc?

Anyone here using Kaspersky Password Manager long term?

Everyone says something different… so which password manager is actually the best?

The more I research password managers, the more divided people seem. I started researching password managers, thinking there’d be one obvious winner, but every option seems to have tradeoffs.

Some people care about open source, some about privacy, some about convenience, ecosystem integration, UI, autofill reliability, or long-term trust.

Question: For people who’ve actually used Proton Pass, Bitwarden, 1Password, NordPass, RoboForm, Apple Passwords, Kaspersky, etc. for months or years, which one ended up feeling the "BEST (for you)" in real daily use, and why?

I miss the old lightweight Malwarebytes

I have used Malwarebytes for years (2012-20XX) alongside Kaspersky, which I use as my primary antivirus. What I always loved about Malwarebytes was that it felt lightweight, focused, and really good at being an anti-malware tool without trying to become everything at once.

Now it feels like Malwarebytes is moving more toward being a full security suite, and while I understand why they are doing that, personally, I feel the software has become a bit bloated. The built in VPN is the biggest example for me. If I want a VPN, I would rather use a dedicated service like NordVPN or ProtonVPN instead of having it integrated directly into my antivirus/anti-malware software.

I honestly think Malwarebytes would benefit from separating some features into optional companion apps, similar to how Kaspersky has separate applications like Kaspersky Password Manager. People who want the VPN could still get it with Malwarebytes Premium, but install it separately only if they actually need it.

I would also love to see two versions of Malwarebytes:

  1. a full security suite for people who want everything in one package
  2. a lightweight anti-malware-focused version that can comfortably run alongside another antivirus

Maybe I’m just nostalgic for the older Malwarebytes philosophy, but I really miss how clean and focused it used to feel.

I’m currently using NextDNS on both my MacBook and phone for ad-blocking and privacy. It’s just a DNS service, not a VPN or proxy, but I’m wondering if it could still affect Prolific in any way.

Has anyone here used NextDNS while actively doing studies? Any problems like account holds, failed submissions, or site issues?

Just trying to make sure everything is safe on my setup.
