Can you take concerta and hydrocodone together?

I had my doctor prescribe the hydrocodone for on going pain and my psychiatrist prescribed the concerta for my adhd. It looks like there’s some interactions between these drugs but I don’t really know how serious they are. Does anyone take this combo of medicine? Anything I should be aware of?

Funny reminders that you have adhd.

I’m curious what quirky things you guys do that reminds you of your adhd. I’ve had the same straw wrapper in my jacket pocket for like a year at this point. Every time I put my hand in my pocket I just play with it, wrap it around my fingers, fidget with it. Then in my brain I think “ok I gotta throw this away.” But then I take my jacket off, forget about it until the next time I put my jacket back on and then just continue to fidget with it in my pocket. Lol

Hard to eat on meds. I have to force feed myself.

I’ve been on concerta for a few months now and I was eating fine in the beginning but over the last month it’s been incredibly difficult to eat. I’m never hungry but I also have a hard time getting food down. Food doesn’t taste good anymore and it feels like one bite of food makes me full/sick to my stomach. How do you guys deal with hunger suppression on stimulants?

Can I take two 18mg trigen pills?

I’m on 36mg but left my bottle at home. I had some 18mg left and was wondering if it works the same way to just take two of those?

Fell asleep with a zyn in my mouth…

Let’s just say I was very drunk and fell asleep. When I woke up I still had my zyn in my mouth. How long do zyns last exactly? Does it mean I just had nicotine releasing into my bloodstream for 5 hours? 🥲

How long does concerta last for you?

I’m on 27mg right now, just recently upped from 18mg and it seems to vary day by day. Sometimes I feel it lasts 12 hours, some days it feels like 7 hours maybe. Today I feel it pretty strong and it’s been almost 12 hours, but there were points in the day when I didn’t feel much. I think it might have something to do with the way it’s released? I’m not on name brand, I’m on the generic methylphenidate if that changes anything.

Concerta 18mg experience so far

This is basically a review of 18mg concerta just to help other people who may just be starting it, but also I had some questions for people who are also on it.

I’ve been on it for a few weeks and I’ve noticed it only subtlety. I can tell it has made my emotions more regulated because I used to be quick to get overwhelmed and frustrated at work, but now I can take my time, take steps to do things and I don’t get too anxious. I think more rationally. However, I do not think it’s really helped with the focus part. I still get distracted, get off track, and don’t have a ton of motivation.

This pill seems to come in waves of productivity though, as around different points in the day I can feel it more strongly than at other points. Some points I feel I could take a nap it makes me so tired. I don’t have any trouble sleeping, but I do take it immediately upon waking up.

As for my questions for you guys who are on concerta, at what dose do you feel it helped you? I know 18 is the starting dose and that’s probably why it is very mild for me. Is it normal for this drug to come in waves? I’m assuming since it’s XR and being released slow, that’s the point, but this is my first time taking it so I’m not sure. And at what point or dosage should I try another medication if I don’t feel the focus I need to?

I wonder if this is normal after a diagnosis. Lol I hyper analyze everything now. How I’m zoning out mid convo, how I talk over people when they take too long to get to their point, how I get distracted by my surroundings when trying to watch a tv show. EVERYTHING. And it makes me so upset I didn’t get tested earlier because I was never self aware until my friends/boyfriend started telling me I had issues paying attention.
