Just starting, Any advice?

For context i’m a huge fan of D&D content. I’ve watched various series and podcast of ttrpgs like Dimension20, Dungeons and Daddies, Tabletop Time, The Encounter Table, SwordAF, etc. and I love all the members of JRWI but despite knowing about them for a while starting with a new show always feels a bit intimidating so I never got around to it. But recently I started watching some of the one shot youtube videos and I love the group dynamics and storytelling. But there are so many different campaigns and I don’t know where to start. Do you have a favourite campaign or maybe one that’s considered to be the fan favourite? I want something bingeable. What would you recommend?

Apocalyptic Dystopian Fiction set in a Hardware Store

Genre: Post Apocalyptic/ Dystopian Fiction

Concept: Early 20s main character (currently unmanned) finds himself at a safe haven during the approaching socio-political apocalypse located at his former place of work, a hardware store. Meanwhile the world falls into chaos.

Inspiration: I’m a huge fan of all this apocalyptic in media, and given the current political climate of the world currently it doesn’t feel that far fetched to write a dystopian apocalypse story in a not so distant future. The setting of a hardware store is also inspired by my current place of employment.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Please be nice!

Post Apocalyptic Toy Story

I have this vague memory of watching a youtube video when i was younger of a post apocalyptic world where all the toy story characters were still alive but all people were dead. it was an animation/animatic, simple line work nothing crazy. A few things i remember from it was a skull with andy’s name on it, and buzz lightyear needing batteries.

I think i had a dream that was a physical manifestation of tiktok or reels. there were infinite rooms linked together, each room had a different layout and theme. some rooms had a bunch of people some had none. you could stay in each room for as long as you wanted but the door to the next room was locked until you interacted with a machine in each room. In every room there was a big machine that fits the theme of its room. There were a bunch of flashing lights and whirring sounds coming from the machine but there was also a slot in the front of the machine. To move on to the next room you had to place your phone in like a keycard. This is where it gets weird though. some of the rooms were Ai and you didn’t know which ones were until you put your phone into the slot and then the room would start melting and falling apart like kinetic sand. If that’s not the most on the nose dream idk what is.

I’m sure someone’s done this before but imagine playing a trans/nonbinary character with the magical abilities of transmutation. Added level of angst if they can only magically alter objects and not people/themselves.
