Issues with Google Play region

I recently switched over to android so now have the joys of dealing with google play. Once I was able to set up my region to Guernsey, so many apps are unavailable for me to download due to being 'unavailable in my region' despite me having them on my iPhone.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you get around it?

I don't understand what is wrong with my google account

I have recently changed from iPhone to android and have been met with a whole host of issues related to my google account.

It began with Google Play. I'm unable to download certain apps as they're 'unavailable in my region'. I go to my country/region setting on Google Play and there is no country selected and no option to choose one. After some digging i discover that i can't change my country whilst in a family group. I therefore delete the family group.

Google Play now says 'swith to the Guernsey Play store' but there's no option to click this or switch to this.

More research suggests I should be able to change my country once I've selected a payment method. I go to add a payment method and surprise surprise, there's no option for me to add a payment method. It says 'adding payment method is only available during purchase flows'.

I also see a popup that I don't have a recovery email and I should add one. I go to add one and it says 'your admin doesn't allow a recovery email to be added'. There is no admin for my account, it's a personal account for me and me alone.

There are a million issues I can't overcome with this stupid account. There's no help online at all.

Please can anyone help me?

For reference I am based in Guernsey, which often should default to United Kingdom for region setting. My husbands google account is set to United Kingdom without issue.

Interested to know what this means

If I ever get a ‘1 change’ notification 9 times out of 10 it’s my SpO2. The other day there were 5 changes for it.

Can anyone tell me what this even means? Is this even that important to me?

Arrow button and steam button not working properly

So this is actually regarding my husbands steam deck. This morning the arrow pad has starting not working properly, particularly the up arrow. When he tries the button configuration thing (sorry I don’t have a steam deck so I don’t know the correct terminology), the arrow pad doesn’t turn blue. Also the left joystick is a little clunky and it won’t respond straight away.
When he uses the Steam button it works but not as it should.

This is his second steam deck, and the second one that’s broken within 6-12 months of purchase. Same issue too, but with different buttons last time.

He’s tried everything he could find online - restarting, updating, rebooting. Nothing has worked.

I’ve seen that others have had the same issue. Is this common?

I’ve never known something to break so commonly, especially for a great bit of kit. Is this user error lol? He swears he’s not done anything to break it himself. But it’s his second one that’s broken now, and he only got this on in Feb.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. He plays on it every single day and it sucks that it’s broken.
