Property in Guanacaste

Hey everyone,

I stayed at Riu Guanacaste last year and I absolutely fell in love with the landscape and weather.

Is there a residential community around there? Also for the locals: is that considered a good area? Safety, friendliness, amenities, etc.

I greatly appreciate your input :)

[Feedback] Looking to start a new venture

Hey everyone,

I’m an IT Project Manager located in Southern Ontario and I was laid off after the MSP I worked for changed ownership. After probably close to 1000 applications, I’m officially feeling discouraged about having another pm role at an MSP.

My ei is about to come to an end in a month and I have come to a crossroads: start a business, or take any random low paying job around. I have experience in most of the common tools and vendors, but I am pretty green on having them configured from scratch. I have thought about creating a b2b product for MSPs, a b2c product for their customers, white labeling another MSPs services, or start from scratch.

I’m leaning towards the white labeling option and it would look something like this: I have my own brand, I attract the customers, I will be the face to stakeholders, and I will manage projects with the work being done by another MSP. For fully managed, it would be an 80/20 split where the MSP doing the backend work takes 80 percent of the per seat fee (say $150 or so).

Is this feasible, or just stop before even going forward with it? Is it better to start my own, given limited hands on knowledge and no tools in place and limited start up capital?

Appreciate any help or feedback

Advice for my debt

Hey everyone,

33 y/o here that recently got laid off my IT Project Management job. My ei benefits end in 4 weeks and I haven’t been able to find a job yet — not for lack of trying at all; I’ve applied to 30+ jobs across the country because ai don’t care if I have to move cities atp.

My debt has been mounting and I’m at 40k on my loc with an 8.95% rate and 25k on credit cards; thankfully I bounced the cc debt around so it’s on a 12 month 0 percent rate. I have a car loan that’s 272 bi weekly; it’s a honda and nothing special and have made 2 years of payments already. My rent is about 1k a month because I moved in with relatives.

I’ve made numerous mistakes trying to dig myself out of this hole, but the hole just kept getting deeper.

Here’s my concern: I have an 800 credit score on both reporting agencies and a perfect payment streak; I’d hate to tarnish it to shit with a proposal or bankruptcy if I can, but I’m also man enough to accept the reality.

Just thought I’d actually ask real ppl and not Grok for opinions, especially if you’ve been in this situation. I’m kinda bummed out and it feels dreadful to think that I’ll be without credit like a loser if I fail to manage this.

Appreciate any comments :)

forgot to mention I’m completely out of savings and I have only 7k in an fhsa

[For Hire] IT Project Manager w/ hands on tech experience

Hey everyone,

My last job was fully remote at a mid sized MSP, but after a change in ownership, my position was changed to on site only. I loved the company but moving across the country wasn’t an option at the time.

I have experience with Autotask and Halo as PSAs, M365, and all other MSP product offerings. I’ve created scopes, managed 20+ projects concurrently, worked with key stakeholders, and managed cross functional teams.

I live in the Niagara region in Ontario.

I’m happy to connect and discuss any relevant positions in more detail.

Thanks!
