As you know, this sub was created to focus on Black and POC islanders from all franchises of Love Island. Non Black/POC islanders are not allowed to have standalone posts here, but can if they relate to a Black/POC islander. For example, we don’t allow posts about Kaylor and her relationship, but if someone wanted to post her recent podcast interview with Serena, that’s allowed.

This past season, we’ve seen an uptick of white islander posts that we had to remove and after having a mod chat, decided to try “White People Wednesday” where you can post about your white faves on Wednesdays. If we see that it’s not as popular as we thought or if it causes unnecessary disruption, we’ll do away with it. Make sure to use the “White People Wednesday” flair on your posts.

This does NOT mean you can’t post about Black/POC islanders on Wednesday. This space is for them 24/7/365.

First, as one of your mods, I want to take accountability and apologize for opening Pandora’s Box and posting the first posts when Kenny went on a podcast to talk about his relationship with JaNa. Since it related to JaNa and their break up, I figured it would be okay. What I didn’t want to do was turn this sub into a place to post about his upcoming events and how he’s now moving. While he is a past POC islander, he is also a proven racist as confirmed by people who know him.

Moving forward, any standalone posts about Kenny will be removed. Posts related to his previous relationship with JaNa will be allowed if they have new information (i.e. texts are posted, legal responses to the podcast, etc.) Current posts about him not related to a Black/POC islander will be locked.

I unleashed this news on the sub, so I guess it is my duty to provide proper context.

Note: I only watched clips from various TikTok videos, as I did not want to give the actual podcast any views. They are not in any kind of order. Here is what I gathered from those:

• Had a conversation in the Hamptons. Kenny says it wasn’t sitting right to him that they were still together so he sat her down and said they were business partners more than a couple. He asked if JaNa wanted a platonic relationship, as the romantic part wasn’t working out for his mental health. JaNa said she wanted to continue the relationship and that she was gonna change.

• Everyone turned their backs when “the situation” happened. Some people told him he’s good people but their agents and PR wanted them to separate themselves from them (fake tears). That part really hurt him because he thought he made friends. Says Kordell reached out to him and he has the utmost respect for him for that. He was the only one from the season to do so. (Kordell's response to this is posted in the sub)

• Break up happened when they were in LA. He says he is not a victim for staying in the relationship. Went to a party and they had an argument in the car. He says they have an argument every 2-3 days so this was normal. He woke up in the middle of the night and his phone was off the charger. He thinks she went through his phone the entire night. She told him she was upset after going through his phone. He grabbed her phone and asked to go through it. She said no and then “got all up in” his face and got physical. He pauses and lowers his voice for dramatic effect and says, “here’s your phone, the door is there, or I’m gonna call 911. Here’s your phone” He says that is the last say he saw her. He did send her a letter expressing how he felt during the relationship. He says she told her friends and they went public with it.

• He says JaNa made it seem like this came out of nowhere like they weren’t having problems, but they were. He says JaNa played the victim and took advantage of his trust. He stayed in the relationship when he didn’t want to and he communicated that with her. He says she “destroyed him”

• There was a lot of stress once they got outside the villa and to keep up the image on social media. JaNa wanted to be public, but Kenny wanted to be private. She would make him film YouTube videos after they fought like everything was fine. He wanted to be real.

• Says he was checked out of the relationship by the time BTV was filming. He told her he wasn’t happy and his mental health was taking a toll. He didn’t want to put it on the show, so it stayed between the 2 of them. He says she broke up with him during BTV filming and she came back 2 hours later and said they were back together and she asked him how it felt to be broken up for those 2 hours. He says she was trying to get emotions from him, but he didn’t give it to him. He said he wanted to be the man in the relationship and she wanted him to treat him with respect and care. He again says he wanted to be real, but he didn’t want to do that to her. BTV was not the best experience for him. 

• He should have respectfully disagreed with her. He was scared to disagree or else she would “erupt”

• JaNa planned a girls trip and says he couldn’t come. Then all the boyfriends came and Kenny said he wasn’t coming because he was with his family. He said she then went online and tagged all the airlines to get him a flight (fake tears again).

• Host says one thing should not define his character 

• Kenny says messages were between him and a friend and he made a statement where he generalized and he’s not proud and takes full accountability (of course he never says what the message says. Then he says he has dated Black women before and as a Dominican he has Black ancestry, half of his family is dark skinned. It was never about race and how she was treating him. He says he was verbally abused and stayed silent. He thinks it’s unjust that people have ran with this and define his character because of it.
