In TX & After 11 months of waiting- my intake appointment is tomorrow morning. I learned recently that the EEOC only accepts less than 5% of their cases. Not holding my breath but- What advice would you have for me you wish you had? (context included)

For starters- I’m still within the EEOC limits window. Also limiting details to protect myself.

Constructive discharge that even unemployment approved benefits for after they caught my employer lying to them to stop me from getting unemployment (I know it doesn’t hold water in this case- just more fuel for the fire as they’re a govt impartial entity) due to:

* (Everything listed includes email proof in hand) *
- Two different types of discrimination
- Harassment and retaliation
- Employer HR admitting fault in emails but refusing to resolve the situation and denied or ignored self-initiated accommodation requests to resolve it myself.

There’s many other things involved but I don’t know what the EEOC will actually pursue.

Using my inheritance to not become homeless- MYSTERY TUB UPDATE #3: 1000+ and counting. Gonna hurt if I have to let these ones go…. *MANY of these STILL IN OLD BAGS* & Last slide: Art tax of the comic book art I made of Daredevil 10 years ago.

Proud I personally contributed to this collection… I’ve always loved Daredevil. Adding to this made me feel extra connected to my uncle. & it’ll hurt if I have to part with this collection but c’est la vie.

Sharing these with all of you- that appreciate these and have been nothing but supportive- has really helped me get through this. 🫶🏻

I’ve started HD scanning -> rebagging everything. My body hurts. My eyes are strained. My air purifier is at my side at all times after developing some dust allergies.

ALSO: I do not make comic book art anymore. I had that business 10 years ago. It was too intense to keep up with.

Initial Intake Interviews: How much effort did you put into pre-uploaded documents? Did you provide an index, cover pages, single page timelines? Did it help? What would you do differently if you could?

Interview is in a month. My timeline is legitimately a mess and spans over 18 months. While accurate and documented with emails, documents, phone call recordings, attempt to involve lawyers before I had to resign (constructive discharge).

I also have AuDHD. Meticulous, analytical, and unfortunately all over the place.

I don’t want to overwhelm the person during intake with a mess of documents. I also want to make certain there is an appropriate easy to read document if that helps.

Any experience you can share is greatly appreciated!

Using my inheritance (800 comics & counting…) to not become homeless MYSTERY TUB UPDATE #2:

First off, you guys have been keeping a smile on my face all weekend. My whole situation is a lot but I’m finding my way back to a passion even in the midst of this all, and because of this sub.

This one was really cool to find even not being the biggest Sub-Mariner fan, this was such an awesome find. I have many more

Some of these have seen better days but I’m hoping they’ll still be of some sort of value once I sell them. Any tips appreciated!

Using my inheritance to not become homeless: MYSTERY TUB UPDATE #1 (with a twist)- I found another box of comics!

REPEAT DISCLAIMER: These were inherited and given to me in this condition!

The mystery tub is organized-ish! Shockingly most were in great shape. I have been cataloguing all day and my fresh bags & backing boards just came in. As I was about to start those, I remembered I had a few other oddities / collectibles of my own in my storage closet I could sell (see last photo for an interesting one), and I stubbed my toe on a box I never unpacked when I bought my home 6 years ago.

To my surprise, it was more comics! In my defense, I have AuDHD. I love watching old movies, because I always forget how they end lol.

So my weekend has been decided for me. Between applying for jobs and listing bike parts on eBay, I’ll be getting through all of these with Buffy the Vampire Slayer playing in the background, and come back with another update-
WITH PICTURES I PROMISE!

Thank you guys for being so supportive to someone in a bad spot that has no idea what she’s doing!

HELP! I have no idea what I’m doing. Inherited collection! (& don’t come for my head) *NOT A SALES POST*

DISCLAIMER: THESE WERE INHERITED - Range from 60’s to 90’s.

So please be nice. I’m a fish out of water and it’s hard enough to post this. I am on the verge of losing my home and my car thanks to a saturated job market. I need to sell them but could really use some help on best next steps especially with slide 4.

Yeah…slide 4, I know. This is how a majority were handed to me. Some were backed and bagged by me (the confirmed collectible ones), some came backed and bagged, but I did most of it very carefully several years ago.

What are my best options for the not so great condition options? Sell in bulk? Sort by series and try to sell those? Where do I start?

Any suggestions or ideas are more than appreciated right now.

Have any of you done LDR Couples Therapy? My partner (33M) and I (37F) are close to closing the gap, and his avoidant attachment defenses are dominating the LDR with its own narrative. Unconditional Love = Danger. Looking for recommendations and experiences from any couples that did LDR therapy?

Did it help? What was your experience when doing the therapy not sitting right next to one another? How much does it differ from “regular couples therapy” when it’s specifically targeted towards LDRs? And yes, I was able to convince him to get into individual therapy, and he did. I’m proud of him. But it’s in the “worse before it gets better” phase. See context below-

Context: We both have a disorganized attachment style. Mine is more fearful leaning, his is more dismissive. I was able to finally get him into individual therapy but whatever is cracking open inside him, is enough to have dismantled the belief of things around him. The fear is dominating as the love keeps getting deeper and deeper between one another and blending families with his daughter, while the goal of the relocation gets closer. So the walls keep getting higher.

When I had suggested it before things were this rocky, he got frustrated thinking couples shouldn’t have to be in therapy nearly one year in. This is also both of our first times being in an LDR (we met in person first).

The type of couples therapy needed for LDR seems like it’d be much different in an approach but I guess I don’t know well enough to explain its benefits.

Would love some insight and recommendations on if it worked for anyone here!

The 6 Month ‘Make it or Break it’ milestone: Did you and your partner make it through the storm? What advice would you give to anyone going through it?

Like the title says, the six month rule in any new relationship is on average a milestone where couples either end things, or fight to keep this alive- all because the commitment has become real and the stakes are higher. Long distance only exacerbates this** **milestone.
Did you and your partner get through it?

The honeymoon phase has worn off, and real emotions, communications, compatibility, and commitments come into play as you start to see the real version of your partner. Smaller things get noticed, love languages are either met or dismissed, arguments arise, values and expectations either sync or swim, and you start second guessing if it is worth it.

What was your experience?
Was it a compatibility issue or something disguised as it that you actually worked through?
Did you wish you handled it differently?
Did it end or make you stronger?

No Stupid Questions? Difference in stability of 45° vs dovetail corners for making wall mounted hidden tactical ‘photo frame’?

Context: Making a fairly complex DIY electronic NFC / Key Pad / App opening tactile frame for my partner for Father’s Day. I’m much better at the electric tinkering stuff.

I’ve never done dovetails. Always wanted to but this is for a gift for a standard issue piece of home protection. Based on weight (~ 3-4lbs with piece, electronics and additional mags), handle/barrel width of a ‘19, and this being mounted vertically, does corner construction matter here?

The box dimensions would be for a 12”x10” standard size photo frame that would flip upward with a mini gas strut. So all the mechanisms make me hesitant to go my comfort route.

Sorry for vagueness of wording. Wasn’t sure if specifics would make this NSFW.

Non-Smart Litter Box Tracking- Show me your Setup! (ESP32 builds + ESPHome welcomed)

This is a bragging-safe zone to show off & tell!

Please no “You should clean the litter box every day” comments. Hear me out first- Four cats, and four (hidden) litter boxes. They’ve managed to unanimously pick different boxes for number 1 and number 2.

That said, sometimes they choose to fill one or two up first before touching the other. Cats gon’ be cats I guess.

Standard I’d think to include/build:
- A weight sensor microcontroller build
- Each litter box weight status (resetting it to 0) after cleaning it)
- “clean litter box 4!” alerts
- Nice overview card for it

I’d love to see if anyone else has done this, and how they’ve integrated it/multiple existing integrations & what it looks like, and if you have any cool things you added to it?

To those in an LDR with a Single Dad- have you felt more like you were preparing to fill a void rather than be a partner + bonus parent? What are your experiences?

I (37F - no children) am with my partner (33M) who’s got an almost 5 year old and things are very serious with all three of us. He’s been a single parent doing this on his own since she was born.

Just looking to discuss experiences and maybe anything to watch out for before we close the gap.
