im looking to do a very needed food upgrade for my doves asap. i cant afford it yet but should be able to next month. i heard they need 14-15% protein and 3-5% fat. the foods that im seeing are the best i cant access for one reason or another. Versele Laga Classic No Corn, im not sure exactly what this even is and chewy and google are bringing up pigeon food, but the pieces look way too big for a turtledove. i might be wrong because i dont know!! if this is best i will get it!

So a few weeks ago I found a dove unable to fly, she was hopping away and flapping. I picked her up to save her, only to find out a bird rehab can't legally release her as she's "invasive". So we've been taking care of her, she can fly now and is doing awesome. Also no, we don't know her gender. Just assuming till she lays an egg or does a crow-bow.

Anyways, I'm going to the pet store to get my rats food, and need to know things to get my dove. Specifically WHAT IS THE ACTUAL GOOD GRIT SHE NEEDS??? I don't know much about birds, ive been doing so much research. I know it needs to be insoluble, but what kind exactly, what ingredients? And is this her life long grit? Or do I need to change it out or add ANYTHING else? She eats seeds right now and def needs grit soon, hasn't had any since I got her. She has a few sticks and a flat perch. I will get her another flat perch. I just need to know the genuine necessities that google isn't telling me. Toys? Things to keep her nails and beak down? Even things she don't NEED that will make her life funner/better. Please lmk and be kind! I want what's best for her.

I have her in a dog kennel that I lined with cardboard to stop any injuries. For now im keeping her, but i cannot find anything about how to care for them when theyre wild caught. The kennel is actually the perfect size for a cage it just definitely needs some constructing. I just need to know what all do I put in it? Its lined w news paper, some big rocks sitting around for her to perch on, and a planter for her to hide in. And seeds scattered w a shallow water dish. But I want it to be like way better, better bedding, decor, and everything. Since she still can't fly it all needs to be ground level, my biggest thing is I want her to have airflow and the ability to see out, but not my cats being able to access her or her getting hurt. Were working on teaching them to leave her alone at all times. They're being very good!

This might be messy and long im so sorry im rlly shocked. Back in march 2025 we lived in a basement apartment and we got new upstairs neighbors. Right before they had moved in, there was a bunch of weird activity in front of the house that happened with them, and then when they moved in we realized it was those same people and thought it was super weird. I think within a week of them being there, I remember it was a Friday night, and it was 10:30 p.m. in Provo Utah where we lived at the time, legally you have to be quiet at 10:00 p.m.. my mom very kindly went upstairs, knocked on the door and asked them if they could turn down the music as we were trying to sleep. They actually turned off the music completely, and then literally within 10 minutes turned it on louder, and started like dancing around? We could hear them jumping and shit. So my mom decided to call the cops and make a noise complaint, because obviously talking to them wouldn't fuckin do anything, and that's when everything went downhill..

Every single night after then, they would stomp blast music and have parties till 4am. we literally turned nocturnal for a bit. We put in reports with the manager, recorded the noise, called the cops when it was necessary, and did literally everything we could to be civil but have peace in our home. They would even yell stuff out the window at my mom, and for months we were dealing with this.

They had learned that our dogs were dog reactive and would bark at dogs, so they borrowed maybe three different random dogs, each dog multiple times for a few days at a time over the span of the last 5ish months, and had them come outside when we were, walked next to us on purpose and once the big bully they borrowed, lunged at my Aussie collie on camera. They left them alone for HOURS and theyd bark all day upstairs, they would jingle the chain, and once one of the guys was in the car w a dog and said "get it" and pointed at my dog, then he started thrashing around and making sounds to make the dog react.. There is more but I wana make this readable.

They got a grill, and because we had to walk down the shared driveway they put it smack dab in the middle and grilled ALLLL DAY EVERYDAY!! it was crazy tbh. Once my dog got burnt by it, because we asked them to move it SO many times and it always ended up right back there, on fire, where we walked our dogs. So we started only taking them out back..

So now we were dealing w them being so loud all night and now all day too, sabotaging my dogs training progress, putting my dogs in direct danger, threatening us, and more. Keep in mind, we were recording everything we could AND SENDING IT TO THE MANAGER!!! Actually, in the beginning the manager seemed like she wanted to help and believed us!! After the first complaint we made they made one against us, and she said "a lot of the times the bad neighbor will make a false report about you after you've reported them for their behavior." At one point, we actually had a cop come talk to us, and then the manager comes out of nowhere and butts into the conversation. This is when the cop told her, that if she was even 51% sure that we were telling the truth, she had the right to evict them and should. Same day the neighbors told her, we were racist.. And that's why we were reporting them for being pieces of shit WITH PROOF..? We literally fuckin baked them cookies the first day they moved in too. But anyways, after that day is when the manager decided to start working with them and against us. She gave us false reports all the time, she told us that she could not hear anything in the recordings, and so much more. So now we are being ganged up on by these people, the manager, the police, because the cops multiple times told my mom to not call back, call back if they're still going at 5:00 a.m., that it's a civil matter, and more... so we stopped calling. We continued to record though.

This was around the time we realized we were fucked and we just had to get out of there. We had a car drive past pointing a damn gun at us. Once at 3am they were FINALLY asleep and obv me and my mom couldn't so we were silently watching videos (they could hear us and would jump around the room we were in so we literally had to go mute and hide basically..) But we saw a video of someone getting payback on bad neighbours and me and my mom WHISPERED ab how funny it would be to wake them up by blasting I feel good by James Brown. The. Next. Fucking. Day. We walk outside, one says "I have an idea!" And BLASTS THAT SONG???!!! HOW DID THEY KNOW???????? We were WHISPERING DOWNSTAIRS!!

The only reason we didn't just knock these people out or do something other than be kind and try our best to not pay mind to it, is because we wanted to keep our housing. The apartment manager told my mom that if she got any fights on the property, we would be evicted so we just stayed victims lol. She did everything she could to be respectful about this and keep her housing. We didn't even want them to not be our neighbors we just wanted them to be respectful and friendly.. after about 6 months decided we were fucking sick of it and nobody helping. So we got a motorhome with our entire paycheck, and we were going to leave. We parked it down the street, packed up our stuff and when my mom got behind the wheel and we went to finally leave, it died within like 3 seconds. These fucking goddamn spawns of the devil and i say this as a wiccan, they cut the goddamn fuel line. We couldnt leave.. So we got it fixed, but they mustve did sum else too. As it has not ran since, we literally drove it for 1.5 hrs no issue, to where we parked it 4 hours before.. We don't know what else they did to it, but the day we were trying to leave was the last day on our lease. We were going to be gone that day and never look back. We had just spent our whole paycheck on that motorhome, and they cut the fuel line and sum else causing us to have to stay another month while we try to fix it and get the fuck out of there. That was when we decided we were sick and tired of the harassment. I didn't mention this earlier, but it was literally like they had people up there on shifts. There was not a single hour of any day that was quiet. Unless nobody was home. It was crazy, the ceiling would vibrate and for cracks, they broke a light fixture in the laundry room, I was convinced they were going to break through the ceiling. We have all of this recorded. And we were tired of it, so we started doing it back. And this was literally within the last maybe two weeks we were there, that we had decided to stop being civil. We banged on the ceiling back and we yelled and we blasted music back. I wish we would have just done this to begin with because we left housing anyways.

We replied to this, basically saying we didn't have the piece of paper and explained a little bit of what actually happened n why we couldn't leave. And actually just a few days ago, me and my mom were talking about how relieved we were that they stopped coming after us for the money. They are trying to sue us for over $6,000 and we don't even make 1,000 monthly.. well, turns out they still are going after us. My mom got another email the other day, and it seems like they won. The second she read it the first thought she had was to blow her head off..

We decided ourselves, we weren't going to pursue it and sue them like we were originally going to. But now it seems we really have no choice. I just don't know how we could even go about this? Till, a couple months ago my mom got an email basically saying the company was trying to sue us for the last month's rent. The month we were forced to stay there bc they sabatoged our way out.. Them trying to sue us also has something to do with a piece of paper, that we literally never fucking got and we know that for a fact because every single false illegal warning that they gave us, we kept, took pics of and the papers are still in a folder in my mom's closet. That piece of paper, is not there and it's really weird that it's the only one that's not. That's because they never gave it to us!!! We replied to this, basically saying we didn't have the piece of paper and explained a little bit of what actually happened n why we couldn't leave. And actually just a few days ago, me and my mom were talking about how relieved we were that they stopped coming after us for the money. They are trying to sue us for over $6,000 and we don't even make 1,000 monthly.. well, turns out they still are going after us. My mom got another email the other day, and it seems like they won. The second she read it the first thought she had was to blow her head off..

We decided ourselves, we weren't going to pursue it and sue them like we were originally going to. But now it seems we really have no choice. I just don't know how we could even go about this? We cannot afford a lawyer or to pay anything at all. There's no way they can win this. We went through 7 months of fucking hell with our lives directly in danger because of them... I don't know if I'm allowed to say the company's name, or the manager's name, but I really fucking want to because there are so many more victims of this company including other family members of mine! PLEASE HELP US!!! if they go after us and win, they take everything. Our home. Everything. But they literally already HAVE taken everything, 8 months ago. and they want to do it again..... Im looking for a vet near PRICE UTAH or OREM UTAH that will check out my new girls and prescribe meds for their URI.

Basically, i got my girl Rose, 4 new friends! Upon more research the pet store I got her from DOES sell rats, but mainly as feeders and they're in the back (makes sense on why they said she'd be a breeder if she didnt find a home). I have been looking for a month almost daily and can't find a close/affordable enough breeder for her some friends. I decided to give in and try the pet store I got rose from, and got 4 more baby girls, They're all so little! I'd say 4-7 weeks? I did immediately notice they were sneezing a bit but active and otherwise healthy looking, and I can afford their medicine so I'm not too worried. they're completely separate from rose, I got them bc she has been super depressed. This was my best option honestly.

I've been researching and all of the exotic vets I can see are SO FAR away. and also according to my research they can't get a prescription for enrofloxacin and doxycycline without an in person vet meeting, so a call is off the table. I'm going to give them a lil humidity session in the bathroom later to help with the sneezes (I know ab new home sneezes too, but I know this isn't the cause its def a URI or sum) ALSO I read that a tiny crumb of dark chocolate can help? Is that true and even safe????? Ik a TIIINY crumb of milk chocolate is okay rarely, but is dark chocolate?? What other things can I do to help them in the meantime?
